on the lookout for some kind of Ninja Foodi BF deal now... bit of a minefield due to the millions of different types but think I've settled on the 15-in-one OL750 as that does the most stuff so will be able to clear out the biggest amount of other kitchen gadgets 😃

dangeoubrain, ah, you’ve met The Teenager then.

No no, I just remember being a teenager.

"I need a new pc to play quake" was never going to wash but "I need a new pc to do my science homework, oh and I'm doing 3d rendering for Art so need something that's up to that too".

I literally have no idea if he makes stuff up or is incredibly intelligent or both

If they are that smart they can work out how to do it on a remote machine that has all the spec and none of the cost for you, welcome to the world of working in software kid 😉

toby1 that’s what I thought but he wants to do some projects before he applies for Uni.
He Was looking at around £1k, I found an i7 with 8gb and I thought would do for £500

Could I set up a powerful home desk top for the kids to use remotely?

If you can stretch do. Hardware becomes obsolete relatively quickly and it really is a case of but cheap buy twice, the cheap stuff already being old.

That said, there's little need to spend on things like gfx cards for a "work" computer, if he wants to add those to an existing good system it's easy and let him do it from his own pocket.

Daft question, does it need to be a laptop? Common wisdom (decades ago admittedly) was a good desktop and a cheap laptop, as laptops tend to be used for actual work, in the library and the like so don't need to be spectacularly powerful, and they're also prone to being nicked, dropped, left in the SU and so on.

A similarly specced desktop is usually significantly cheaper add a forgettable laptop and you're still likely to end up with better hardware and lower cost.

seen that, are they much better than a standard stick? ours is pretty old now

They are but the picture always seems crap on ours compared to a Skybox or Virgin.

anyone seen any good deals on sony cans ? Specifically the WH-1000XM4s ?

If you’re on the mailing list I think Sigma Sports are offering a further 10% off. That would make the carbon wheels I fitted last night £360 if I hadn’t bought them two days earlier.
That’s a steal in my book

Gotta love sigmasports, I had a pair of brooks adreanline GTS wide trail shoes ordered when they last had a sale on, from August - down to £80 or so and bargain at the time. They've finally come in in the last few days and they've even given me the extra 10% off from the e-mail voucher code thing. Their customer service is pretty damn good.

is that the Argos one? It’s the previous gen (current gen is not a lot more from JL) and they’re a bit crap (slow) vs. an iPad etc but you can’t really grumble for the money! I bought a load previously to act as touch-screen wall panels for home automation. There’s some software (Fire Toolbox IIRC) to make it more functional as it comes with their custom (shite) version of Android out-of-the-box 😀

Yay. Needed four new tyres for the Hilux. Halfords have a black Friday thing if you order four Goodyears you get 20% off and free fitting, as long as you join their Motoring Club. Joined and got a £5 voucher, then bought them through Quidco for 6.6% cashback, on the Santander card which gives another bit of cashback. Reckon I've saved getting on for £160

I bought one of those above, it’s a fairly hard to find spec at the moment. In fact, I had THAT particular fork, it has a small chip under the crown, missing hose clamp and wrinkled graphics and I paid £649, so I returned it and bought another for £599 to avoid missing out whilst they refunded. I got notice they’d got it back yesterday.

absolutely cracking price for a great turbo. Pretty much confirms though that Neo 3 (and probably new generation smart bike) is just around the corner!

It isn't that good tbh as the Special Edition Neo is a mix of V1 ad V2 parts. I bought one a year ago for the same price and whilst it's still a good trainer, it isn't as good as the regular Tacx Neo v2.

There is a relatively new Tacx bike with some additional smart features but , it didn't get many good reviews and the cost has rocketed. I now have the first Tacx bike and it does all I need, although it still wasn't especially cheap

fair enough, didn’t realise that! That said tho, I spent almost double on the original Neo when it first came out, still using it & have had zero complaints!

(Also didn’t realise an updated bike was out. I am so out of the loop 😂 <heads off to DCR>)

Just ordered 2 x WTB Raddlers from CRC @ £17 each. No idea if it's BF deal, but were mentioned on the gravel tyres thread. Bonus was remembering to check Quidco account where I had £21 waiting to claim, so a net spend of £13 😁

Not seen much this year, did buy a blink video door bell from the 'zon on Friday. Went for the one without the sync module and it was rubbish.
Easy set up etc but without being able to live view it just felt like something from the early 2000's

Sent it back today and ordered another withe sync module and free Alexa speaker (didn't spot that off er on original order!)

Will give it a go tomorrow when it arrives but if it's as bad as the other it will be going back too.

Not the best BF ever, the bargains don't seem to be there this year
