im after some binocs for a present, i'd ideally like a good brand but i dont have swarovsky (sp?) money to spend.

are there any good deals about at the minute? around the £50 mark? i know this isnt a lot to spend on them but they are only for a beginner.

i'd also be interested in a second hand pair if they are in good condition, if anyone has any for sale!

also - i should add that i dont know anything about binocs! so any key bits of advice would be appreciated!

ta

Ben

have a snoop around some of the bird watching/twitching forums, i chose my binocs on recommendations from those.

What do you want to use them for, Birds, sports? Do they need to be weather proof?

ideally waterproof i think, and i reckon they'll be mainly used for watching wildlife while he's out walking.

I find these very good.
Suitable for spectacle wearers or not, waterproof and fog proof, light, clear lenses and I got them for around $35 in a sale.
look on US sights as they will be cheaper there.

have a good section of info and sales.
