Best is the jekyll. V happy to get back on a FS.

[img] [/img]

The spesh purgatory TLR on the back of that bike was also a great purchase, most impressive tyre I've used for a while.

Nowt sticks out as really bad. Done a few MBOs in the Peak where the riding's being a bit meh. Like if you went to a MBO starting from Hope you'd expect some great trails at your disposal - available map area, control locations etc meant this hasn't been the case. Still enjoyed them in any case - I'm used to the Scottish ones which must benefit from the better land access.

Judging by this weather, it'll be good practice

Best is either Olympus TG 1 or Karrimor eVent jacket.

Worst is my 29er. Tried to like it, really believed the hype, but the stopwatch and the lack of grin on every ride couldn't be ignored so it's gone.

Best: Formula brakes brand new including all the hard wear for just over £100 and they work excellent.

Worst: Fox forks. Completely over rated and poor longevity.

Best: Suunto Core all black, worn it everyday since I bought it. Closely followed by Schwalbe Marathons, highly puncture resistant tyres.

Worst: tough one, petrol maybe, it's all gone up in smoke!

Best:

New C456 frame, Reverb, Thomson Elite X4 stem and On One Oversized Rise Bars

So much nicer and more confidence inspiring than my original frame/set up. Saved a massive £350 by buying all the bits in the sales.

Worst:

Nothing really

Best would be pick one from - BFe frame, Forca Vario seatpost, Flow wheelset (and subsequent tubelessness), Nexus 7.

Worst? Not sure. Biking-wise possibly some Fox gloves that were oddly sized and fell apart within days.

Best - my Canfield Nimble 9 frame from the classifieds. (Oh and BBB tickets)
Worst - led lenser H4 head torch, lots of good reviews but I only used it 4 times and every time I used it something broke on it 😈

Best: Zesty 314
Got back into mountain biking last year and this was the treat to myself for sticking at it. All of my other hobbies are now previous hobbies.

Worst: Drinking kilt & belt
Used once and will probably stay that way like the dinner suit I bought two years previous. Great night though.

Worst: Bayfield Energy shares. Sixty grand down (pukes)

Oh dear, so you you must have spent around £90k on those shares! Shiiiiiit.

Still it's a risk you must have been able to afford to take.

Big wheels and VPP in an off the shelf package that i didn't have to wait 12 months for.

Worst was a holiday with AQR.
Never met such a boring guide in my life. Rode past loads of great looking trails only to be told "we don't ride those trails as they're a bit dangerous".

Asshat.

What if it was part of a inheritance? A guess but does it make it funny?

I lost 6 figures in 2010. No one consoled me then.

Still, thats life.

I wouldn't console anyone who lost money in shares really. You have to be able to afford to take the risk.

Best - because it works so much better than my phone/endomondo and helps with motivation for running.
[img] [/img]

Worse - because they're not as good as my Aldi £5 gloves and are frankly a bit crap

Best: Kona Ute. A life changer bike, school runs & nipping to town have never been so much fun. Second car now languishes unused.

Worst: wasn't so much a purchase, but for a few bits, but I built up a 26" FS bike that I rode twice & missed my Niner as soon as I set off.

best: It's a toss up between my Boardman full susser and my kookaburra hockey stick. Both were great value for money, get used a lot and bring me joy as they are just right for what i'm doing.

worst: the elixir 3's that came with my boardman which are about to be replaced by XT's

(if anyone wants a bargain set of elixirs please PM me)

Not a road bike, but has very much mostly been used on the road (its the Cyclescheme rules!) Love it's comfort, hate the brakes, have stuck a 50tooth ring on now.

Worst... er, new bearing kit for my Yeti, cos I haven't used it since I fitted them 🙁

Best - un opened Durex comdoms. Better half 8 months gone and can't wait 4 the little 1 to arrive (29th Jan).

Worst - Slimline Beko dishwasher. Pump went within a week, multiple phone calls and 3 weeks later 2nd 1 arrives. Salt pot never work and made all my cultlery as rusty as a badly maintained chain. 3 weeks later dishwasher repaired. 1 week after on/off switch breaks.

They were actually a very well meaning present but whoever came up with the idea that putting a conducting pad on the fingertip of a glove was a good idea was a cretin. They conduct the cold in so well your hands actually get colder than without them and they are still useless for using a touch screen.

Best, has to be the Bionicon Supershuttle, paid £1200 new for it... Sold for £1000, bought back for £800... sold for £850 again. Reason it was the best.... well, in the Alps it was truely a superb machine... handled exceptionally... rode brilliantly...

Worst, has to be the Bionicon Supershuttle.... it had a weird knocking which meant it spent more time in the Bionicon reps shed than in my hands. It had numerous parts fitted, replaced and changed.. however it still had this knocking in the shock.... It meant i was never really happy with the bike and we never bonded.
