Powder? Boiling water? Pour petrol in then light it?

Petrol. Lots of it. Throw some old aerosols in there too.

i had a big nest in our path last year i tried the kettle but tho it killed a lot thousands went running , it was worse than when i started. i then used powder once theyd gone back home 😉 and did it once a week for a month and it seems to have cleared up

ive been told tho once its gone something else will just move in in its place

Genetic instinct tells ants to stay away from fire.

Carefully and outside burn some newspapers ends, collect the black chars/cinders and sprinkle near ants nest or entrance point inside your house etc.

They tend to come out 360 degrees in a month so you won't see them for 2 weeks.

I'd rather use cinders than ant killer -also pet safety too.

Where is it? I heard a method on Gardeners' Question Time \m/ which recommended putting a drinks can upside down over the nest. The ants move all their eggs into it, you take it away and feed the eggs to your koi carp or whatever. I doubt it works, like, but it sounded cool.

Half a kilo of C4. Should do the trick. Or Napalm, as suggested above.

Take off and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Start a rumour that there's no such thing as "society" only individuals.

That should do it.

On the news this morning they were talking about all female ant colonies in which the queens clone themselves.... imagine the back stabbing and gossiping in that nest!!

They spoil my lawn and sometimes come into houses but not had that problem yet except when I once left an apple core in a bag on the floor and the next day saw a line of ants coming in from under the front door to the bag. Lifted the bag up and there were so many I got the electric anteater and sucked them all up. Poor ants....
