M1 NCE on a butchers van.

P155 AFF on a 911, admittedly this only really works if you are Scottish.

I used to see a white e-type with 007 on the plate, I think the guy wrote it off in a massive crash.

My wife was unimpressed with my choices for her 40th.....

A11 FUD or B16 FUD

Above may only mean something to those folks in Alex Salmond land, but FUD = lady-part.....

Local lorry has C1DER on it, not sure if that's actual reg plate or a mockup.

H1 D HO on a Bentley GT stands out amongst the many that litter the foothills of the Cheshire Alps. Rather hoping there's a matching one in the garage ending HI.

IIRC the Bentley plate is now on a rather naff Range Rover. Was on a Merc S Class for a while.

I know exactly where they are Flash on the embankment.

A former neighbour of mine was regular visited by someone driving a Bentley with the registration "G2". By sheer chance I later worked with someone who explained that it belonged to a member of a well known West of Scotland family who were pals of David Murray, made a lot of money in mining and land, and allegedly purchased the "G" series. "G1" went on the mother's Rolls Royce, "G2" on the oldest brother's Bentley, and so on down through the other family members to "G9"...
Apparently they had a bit of a reputation, and Mr G2 was barred from Gleneagles for attacking someone in the bar.

Just looked him up, and apparently times are tougher:

Still got expensive tastes in number plates!

PE11 RVY on a Nissan Juke.

I don't believe this is a Private Plate as it appeared when the 11 plates came out.

Back in 2002 the DVLA gave out loads of Plates for the Preston area starting PO02

A top barrister used to have plate that described his speciality, L1 BEL. There was even a court case over it when he croaked.

Was talking about private plates with the bosses wife yesterday. Was saying that if I was ever to splash out on one it would only be one with MFA in it.

With a bit of small print at the bottom of the plate to describe what it stands for. (means **ck all)

There is a lorry around the borders which I see all the time. It's always carrying hay or straw usually with a trailer full too. Number plate is CO05 HAY.

Years ago I saw one of these
[IMG] [/IMG]
With EST 8 on it which was quite good.

Also there used to be a lad round our way (who rode like a lunatic) had P165 SUK on his motorbike, all legally spaced and sized, which always made me smile.

BMW 501 on a mates BMW 501, excuse the very dodgy plastic plate, still to be fully restored but currently in very remarkable drivable condition inside and out with minuscule mileage on it.

J411MESG
surely that has 1 character too many ?

Oh yeah. My mistake. I typed an 'M' that wasn't there:

J411ESG -> J41•1ES G (which looks like "JAMES G" from a certain distance away. If you squint).

SLOW ME (a few years back so not sure the exact spelling, but it didn't need any screw caps etc) on a new shape Mini Cooper.

Last month in Brighton, CA10 NSO, re-spaced to C A10NSO with a Ferrari badge, on a bright red and immaculate Fiat 500.

Some where in Bradford there's a hatchback with something along the lines of W33D on it. Blackout windows, lowered, you know the rest.

Driven by a young lad with a massive New Era cap. How the hell he gets anywhere without being stopped is beyond me....

When I started out at Knight Frank in the 90s there was a small booklet produced to coincide with the company's centenary of a collection of anecdotes about the company. In London it's a common sight to see a London Black Cab (TX style thing) with Knight Frank logo and the numberplate KF1. It's not a real taxi, it's just used for marketing and shipping favourite clients around. The thing is that the company re-branded from Knight, Frank & Rutley in 1996 and prior to that had the numberplate on their Taxi of KFR1. Shortly after the rebrand, one of the partners was following a car with the numberplate of KF1 and followed them to their destination in order to make them an offer for it. It was obviously enough to swing the deal.

There's another agency in North London that a friend used to work for with numberplates like B1 DLO and B1 DHI etc.

Well it would wouldn't it.

Seeing as it would been an illegal plate before the 11 plates came out ?
