Energizer Lithiums are the longest lasting (non rechargeable though) best price I have seen is £6.85 for 4+2 free at Superdrug

I really like my Duracell 2650mah. Had them in the torch for about 6 months now and runtime is still the same. They last for ages in my compact Pentax camera. Got a kind of quick -ish 3h charger with them. They just work really well.

Rechargeables are best & those Eneloops are meant to be good.

I was told that you shouldn't buy the highest capacity rechargeables you can get as they discharge faster than lower capacity cells.
This was after I did buy some high capacity cells and found that they do indeed discharge really fast when not actually 'being used'.
