Reception on most mobile networks is dodgy at new house so will need to buy some new phones to use these services

Any problems I should know about?

I've been using Vodafone's Sure Signal for about 2 months now and the improvement is tremendous. I'm sufficiently far from the exchange that I only get about 300 kbps upload speed on broadband, so nowhere near their required 1 Mbps, but no problem at all on that. I appreciate that your question was about problems, and therefore this is not an answer, but I'm pretty impressed overall. One niggle was linking it to a BT Home Hub but a bit of searching on the web threw up where the HH settings needed to be modified to allow a SS to operate..not sure I could find them again though ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a colleague who has a VF SureSignal. He has a reasonable connection speed (2-3Mb download if I remember correctly) desite living out in the sticks. The SureSignal means he can use his mobile at home where he couldn't before, but if you're talking to him and he does something like download an email with an attachment the call quality drops to the point where he's unintelligible. This may be something you could manage with a more sophisticated router to ensure the SureSignal has some bandwidth protected, but is worth being aware of.
