Putting together a mini adventure film festival for a few mates at home. Plenty of ideas for MTB stuff from here, but wondered has anyone seen any really good mountaineering, snowboard/ski, paragliding, surfing, films (that sort of stuff etc) recently?

Ideally shorter films are best as we can get through a few, must be easily available to watch online (i.e. no subscription/sign up).

So then, fire away ๐Ÿ™‚

I don't know if this counts but "Valley Uprising" on Netflix

History of Yosemite climbing with a bit of base jumping and slack lining

Have a look on http://www.beontherope.com/en/ - there are usually a good selection on there, although you would need to look into permissions/copyright etc.

Petzl also makes some good films https://www.petzl.com/GB/en/Sport/Community, although again, not sure how you would get permission to screen them

Thanks guys, some good ideas there, not really screening them as such, just a few mates, a few beers, at home with a laptop and projector ๐Ÿ™‚

North of the sun (surf / snowboard) documentary is good if you can find it.

Look up The North Face on youtube (sponsored films by the clothing company) they have some interesting films e.g. the free solo climber Alex Honnold.
Fledglings

Towers of Ennedi
180o South

National Geographic did a shorts series rock climbing in China incredible cliffs that is good.

Saw this at Brit Rock film festival (I think) in Hebden Bridge cinema... probably the best film there if I am honest. You wouldn't think a fell running film could be so good!

"Northbound" is incredible, it's a skateboarding film set on a frozen Scandinavian beach. I saw it at SHAFF and was so impressed, I am not a skater and thought it was beautiful. I had to visit the SHAFF site to check it's name and it apparently won best film of the festival so my opinion is not alone!

I'd also recommend Untethered, it's about free solo slacklining. It made me want to move to Canada more than any riding film ever has.
