Re-locating due to work, and need any insider advice, we've sold our House, and need to move ASAP, so if anyone is local, and care to give out any pointers....
I lived there about 5 years ago. Northwich itself is a bit of a hole but there are a lot of nice places in the vicinity. We lived in Hartford which is kind of attached to the west of Northwich. I'd advise you to have a drive round the surrounding area - depending on how much money you've got to spend you could look at Knutsford or Holmes Chapel on the other side of the M6 or any of the villages between Northwich and Chester.
As above Hartford is the nicer part and has good rail links to Liverpool and Crewe for further connections. Northwich is even more of a hole now that lots of the shops are empty. Also agree the villages between Northwich and Chester are nice which mean you can get into Delamere forest in a few minutes for some good riding. PM me if you need any advice on schools.

My sister lives in Sandbach, seems nice enough.
My bro in law works there and dislikes it.
We had friends in Hartford and that was much nicer.
