onion - kids, wife and me developing serious doses of the shits is what happened to that. I suspect there would have been deaths if we had tried it, but that's another story. We'll try again at some point though.

I just came on to see if anyone had posted about the amount of snow in the Tweed Valley and the OP has pretty much answered the question. I'm about to enjoy my first ever solo Christmas and was planning a nice quiet day at Glentress. Sounds as if the snow will be too deep to get there, let alone ride the trails. ๐Ÿ™ Hope to get out on the bike at the weekend though if a bit of thaw sets in.

Was supposed to be going to the in-laws but I took one look out of our front room window this morning and decided not to risk it:

Not exactly caused by the weather but our Aga has broken down and we can't get the new part until 4th January apparently, which means no cooking or heating until then! Second time in 4 years that its broken down over Christmas!

Well I decided that I was getting to my mothers if it was at all humanly possible. Quite a lot of digging was involved, but we got there. Had a good day.
