Going to Riga for a friend's birthday at the end of November, for 3 nights.

Looking for suggestions on accommodation, eating/drinking and things to see...

Anyone been?

Cheers
Amit

Yep, I went in May.

Depends what type of accomodation you want. We stayed in a hostel:

which was great. Clean, friendly, own rooms (as there were 4 of us).

Eating/Drinking then stay away from the main squares and eat/drink in the local bars. You can still get a pint for 70p.

I'd definitely recommend going shooting in a nuclear bunker:

We did it through the hostel.

Things to see...there isn't a great deal other than a few museums.

I've been a couple of times on business. I think Riga is absolutely great and it is not as seedy as its image suggests. There are a few excellent art galleries that had some superb exhibitions when I was there, and there is a huge choice of restaurants with a range of cuisine. I have actually forgotten the name of one of the big Casino's, but I did pretty well and came third in a poker tournament there, cheesing off some rather dodgy Russian types, but hey ho. That Casino has a great cocktail bar on the top floor of the hotel it is in, and gives a great view of the area.

I went a couple of years ago.

Nice place, reasonable prices. Can't remember well enough to offer specific recommendations though, sorry.

La Belle Epoque (also known as the French Bar) was the cheapest bar when I was there and full of traveller types.

Oh and you can get a bus straight from the airport to the centre of town for next to nothing. I wouldn't bother with a taxi.

Went to Riga a couple of years ago with the wife. Very pretty city really enjoyed it. Go to the "Museum of the Occupation" (think that is what it was called) very interesting. Other than that just wander round plenty to look at and plenty of places to eat and drink

That would be a lengthy document indeed.
