Morning all, I'm off to Italy with my better half next month and we need to stay one night in Bergamo before we fly back. Any nice hotel recomendations somewhere we can walk out into town?

Thanks folks.

Its really nice. Much nicer than I was expecting. Walk up to the old town (citta alta) or take the funicular railway. There's a nice pizza place on the corner of the main square.

We stayed in the Hotel San Giorgio on via san giorgio. It was near the centre on the new town. Pretty basic but fine for one night.

eating house in the old town called "sole" quite nice

polentas are an aquired taste , most bars have snacks on the bar for you to get stuck into

Bergamo is lovely. There was a thread on Milan/Bergamo a while back which might be useful?
