If so are they any good for lugging bikes / kit or are they just slighter bigger golfs?
Real world experiences much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
I had one as a courtesy car last week.
Comfy, nice to drive, cockpit could be a Passat. Boot was shockingly small, but then I didn't attempt to fold down the seats etc. as I'd no need to. I suspect that it -could- be quite cavernous, but I'm sure it'd be big enough for a pair of bikes.
both wheels off you reckon for 2 bikes? Looking at an Octavia Scout too...
Why not go for a test drive and ask that you try putting some bikes in the back? If you come across serious and say that it's a major part of what you want from the car, that you want to be able to put bikes in the back and you want to see whether they fit, then you should be allowed to have a go.
That was the next step but was hoping to save a trip to the dealer if it's a no go.
A scout and tiguan are quite different cars! ๐
My folks have one. I think it would be wheels off the bike to put them in the boot. Would fit ok with the seats down I guess.
I like it, it's got a good bit of go, but is decent fuel economy on a run and driven sensibly. (2.0 tdi)
My folks say its been very reliable.
I'd get one, but the wife won't let me.
Realise that but looking for someting 4wd that can carry bikes but gets sensible MPG
The boot is small, but the rear seats do slide forward 4-6 inches making it slightly bigger. They do have roof rails and the economy is still good with bikes on the roof.
The boot would be much better if there was no spare wheel (as per some Skoda yetis), but the boot tapers below the shelf, so you can't easily remove the spare and foam packing to convert to using a can of tyre seal.
The 4wd is brilliant though.
Skoda Yeti may be a better bet...
