I bet it weren't all that much of a big deal.

After all, it was only over Norwich.

It could have been the end of Mustard.

No passengers though, and these sort of post maintenance flights are for exactly this sort of thing...But then again, "Routine test flight doesn't end in crash but was quite exciting for the pilots", doesn't make for a headline I guess.

i guess the test pilots forget to give the maintenance guys a box of choc's at xmas

... i guess "Plane with only test pilots on board nearly crashes on 36th* largest city in uk" is not a good headline

*approx population is less that 125,000 me thinks

Rather easyJet than effing chuffing Ryanair, which decided to strand us in Marrakech 2 weeks ago, no spare seats back with them for 2 weeks. Absolute arseholes.

I guess you need to determine a value for "nearly". I see the article is very keen to establish the plane was in a steep dive at 350ft per second, but doesn't mention for how long it was in a dive. I'm willing to bet, if it wasn't mentioned, it's because it wasn't very long at all, and it makes the whole "Dramatic Event" not very dramatic at all.

Still, Norwich...he might have aimed for wasssername the TV Cook what cheats...

I'm flying with them this weekend (they're pretty much the only operator at Bristol airport apart from the holiday companies) and I've decided that the dilapidated state of their aircraft only adds to the terror/excitement of flying. Their excess baggage charges, on the other hand...

excellent dezB

only bit missing was that if you've only got Euro's cabin crew will be available to exchange foreign currency at a rate that depends purely upon their thumb size on the calculator** and how fed up the cabin staff are

**Ryanair special doesn't actually have any batteries and only works on solar power when adjacent to where Micheal O'Leary's speaks from

commin back from us a few years ago we saw from the departure lounge one of the big luggage containers fall off the forklift and hit the front wheel of the plane

so we had to watch the,m jack up the jumbo and put on a new tyre, which isnt very cofidence inspiring and put a few passengers on edge

no worries

until we get to heathrow i look out the window and think wow the ground is commin up awful fast but wtf do i know about flying a plane?

next thing we hit the run way and bounce up and then down and wobble all over the place, all the oxygen masks drop out of the ceiling and everyone starts crapping themselves eventually we judder to a halt
and a very excited pilot comes over the PA explaining how the new autopilot they were using failed just before landing and the he had to take over
and that was with BA

Moses - Ryanair should have re-routed, reimbursed and maybe compensated you. Call the Air Transport Users Council (AUC)
