My combi boiler has been getting debris stuck in its inner workings caused by particulates coming in with the mains water.
I'm looking for a (not massive) in-line particulate filter to fit between the stop tap and the boiler (15mm pipe) to catch the crud before it gets to the boiler.
I've been to a couple of plumbers merchants without any joy.
Anyone know anywhere that sells these?
Thanks.

Don't you want to be looking at the cause rather than a quick fix? If it is getting into your combi boiler (which is fed from your cold water supply) then it is getting into your drinking water - I would be speaking to your water authority first.

I had a real problem with my drinking water when I lived in Chesterfield. Particulates and colouration. Boy did I have fun getting SevernTrent to do anything or even look in to it. In the end I moved house (for other reasons)and as far as I know the problem persisted. But even so I'd get on to your supplier, as said I'd be more concerned about what I was drinking.

The problem with a filter is blinding. Having worked in the water industry I know a small amount about this sort of problem. On sewage works "final effluent" is used for a lot of purposes where drinking (Potable) is not required. For items like spray bars which have fine nozzles the particulate load in the F.E. can lead to blocking so filters (called strainers) are put in line. However as stated eventually any filter will blind so self cleaning duplex filters are often used. These allow a swap between a fresh and dirty filter very quickly and can be self cleaning and automatic. However you aren't going to get one of these for domestic use (I don't think). Long term you need your supply to be cleaned up by the supplier. It could be as simple as the water main to your street needing to be scoured to displace accumulated debris. Could well be simply limescale build up.

Thanks for the replies. I'm sure it was caused by a "one off" event further up the road where they are building a new developemant and have opened the main somewhere.
However, if my boiler hadn't been under warranty it would have cost a bit to sort out, therefore i would like to protect the boiler incase it happens again.
Thanks soops, thats exactly what i was after!!!!!!!!
