Unless I'm going mad the valves on my towel rail operate anticlockwise. As in they close anticlockwise and open clockwise. I cannot be certain as at least one the valves is not working so the radiator is stone cold.
Could it be that they operate in the opposite direction to all other radiator valves?
They are Altech manual radiator valves (Grahams own brand).

It's not just seized in the off position has it ?
As in, you're just unscrewing whatever turns the ball bit from the ball, on its own ?

I'm wondering if that is the case. The screw in bit appears to screw in and out, but nothing seems to happen. Other than a slight drip from the valve tap cover bit.
