I can do something similar with Do Not Disturb and setting exceptions for certain contacts, but it's not quite what I want.
It's for when I'm on-call overnight; I don't (and more importantly MrsIHN doesn't) want to be disturbed unless it's a callout. In theory, all callout calls should come from a single number, so I have the phone on Do Not Disturb and have set the callout number as a Do Not Disturb exception. However, there have been a couple of times where the call has come from a different number, I don't want to miss those, but if I don't know the number beforehand I can't set an exception for it.
TL:DR - I'd like to be able to turn all the notifications off on my phone except calls, so if someone rings me it'll ring and/or vibrate, but incoming texts, WhatsApp, email, news alerts, app alerts blah blah won't do anything.
Any ideas?
In my Do Not Disturb settings I can still Allow Calls from Anyone.
It's in Settings, Sound, DND, Calls, Allow Calls.
Ah, interesting...
Depending on your phone it might be hidden under a category called "Digital Wellbeing".
Right, lovely, it looks like they've made Do Not Disturb more customisable since the last time I looked in there. Smashing, sorted.
