Rubbish day to die if you're an-ex pornstar wrestler...

From the publicist: "It is with deep sadness to inform you today that we lost a true icon, a real life superhero," said a message. "She will live forever in the memories of her millions of fans and all of us that loved her."

Sledge climbing up the Beeb website's Most Read page.

If it's any concellation, Floella Benjamin made the same mistake...

So sad that soul singer Percy Sledge has died aged 74. My favourite song is 'When a man loves a woman'...classic http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-32301435

Why do these old news stories pop up again a year later? Percy Sledge dying is the second most read thing in the BBC website. Whassitallabout?

Percy Sledge has died two years in a row. Fingers crossed that 2017 is a better year for him

Bruce Forsyth, if I was a bookie I'd offer abysmal odds on him being next.

I've started the campaign for 'a saxonrider' to get in the oed...

i fell for the percy sledge one on bbc news last night and mentioned it to the wife. on realising my mistake this morning I updated her with 'turns out percy sledge died ages ago but it resurfaced on a most read list...there's a name for that and it's a 'saxonrider' - you can tell your friends that...'

slightly weirdly she didn't question it at all and i am confident it is now spreading...

This is all further proof that we are nothing more than automata, existing in a giant computer simulation, run by strange alien intelligences we cannot begin to comprehend. And they have had their budget cut so are being forced to cut back on how many human brains they can simulate.

The easiest way to do that is to reduce the number of creative artistic types, as they generate a lot more data per simulation cycle.

The other way is just to reduce average intelligence. That's been going on for years.
