[Closed] Alpkit Jeanius
I normally get 34L trousers, to make room for my sticky-out arse and singlespeeder's thighs of mighty power. Anyone know what the cut is like on the Aplkit Jeanius jeans?
Tight, I normally wear 32" jeans and am probably more like a 31" waist at the moment. The legs are cut narrow, so I needed a nominally 34" waist to fit my legs - standard issue, muscly, standard issue mountain biker thighs - the fabric is great, the cut isn't if you're not a stick insect. The prototypes were looser and in my opinion anyway, a much better fit. If you still want some, I'd consider going up a size with Jeanius.
If you can wait until SSUK I'll have my pair with me and you can have a look...
When I was trying them on I found the 34's were too tight on my thighs, and so I ended up with 36's... nothing to do with the belly, honest!!
Mine were prototypes, and the fit is great even though I am also mighty of thigh. They're 34R, still fit even though my current fitness has me at the "if you're lucky" end of 34. I guess that's little use if they've changed the cut as BWD suggests.
I'm not keen on the fabric - it feels cold and draggy against the legs. On reflection I came to the conclusion that I don't believe waterproof jeans is a niche that needs filling.
They have changed the cut. Definitely. I've tried both for size.
I've got a pair of 36 R's for sale if anyone's interested?
Hmm, was thinking of getting some for camping and dog-walking duties. Might give them a go; can always send them back if they're no good.
I always struggle to get trousers that fit. The last couple of pairs I bought I had to try on loads. I normally get 34" waists and have to wear a belt to pull them in - I can pull them down without unfastening them sometimes - but often have to try on a few different 34s in different shops before I get a pair that fit.
