Mashgang is
Jordan Childs’, formerly of Sick! Bikes, current thing IIRC. If that means anything to you.
Conflicted.
don’t know the story of sick bikes, but a 2 second google finds he’s also involved with impossibrew.
mashgang must be doing well as they were acquired by Dionlife in 2024, I’d never heard of them before this thread.
Anyone know the 15% off code for the Drop Bear Beer (above) ?
It's my Dry Jan pint of choice.
Had many of them in a pub down South last week. It was on keg, I was driving, and I didn’t miss a “real” beer at all.

A very long story, very short
Stole a ton of money from customers, never paid for frames to fulfill orders, all the while giving it billy big spuds about being the savior of the bike industry, insulting anyone who dare question them.
Brooklyn special effects
I know you didn't want anything from a supermarket OP, but you have to try this. It's the benchmark IMO.

will give it’s try, at leat I can just buy one to try! Unlike all the other online order options!
im not sure why I’ve not tried it before tbh.
Even better on draft (Brudnell serves it).

Without any other context, that sounds bloody awful.
thankfully there a lot of other really good alcohol free brewers to try, so I can just shelve them; if the bike thing was 2019, mashgang was 2020. I’ll simply echo the conflicted viewpoint.
Confused by references to St Peters and American.
The first time I came across it was in America. Flattened bottles almost hip flask shaped, ribbed like an old poison bottle. Where it's actually from and whether we're talking about the same thing I have no idea.
Does sound like

For me Guinness 0% is the only one that doesn't leave an aftertaste after a few pints.
Even though they've come on massively if I've been drinking zero alc all evening when I get home I have to have a bottle or normal lager to 'cleanse' the palate!

I was talking with a mate about this. Apparently at his local it's popular to get Guinness 0.0 and then, because it's a 500ml can in a (568ml) pint glass, have it topped off from the regular draught pump.
A slightly different take on what constitutes a good AF beer. The thing I have never found with those I have tried so far is decent mouth feel. What I enjoy about craft ales and lagers is that thick (not milkshake thick, that would be weird) mouth feel you get with the likes of Vibrant Forest Pupa or say a Bevertown Lupuloid. Have any of the brands managed to crack that nut in the AF space or do they all still feel thin in the mouth?
these do some good AF options:

Totally agree with this, any crafty ale breweries AF offering is worth trying and there's loads of good ones, but special effects still tops the list for me.
Clear head is good. Goram Ipa is the best I've tried.
I'm a enthusiastic drinker. The only night of the week I don't drink is Tuesday when I spend all night in the pub, playing guitar and singing. Tonight I had 4 pints of Guinness 0.0. I love the stuff.
In fact last night we got home from a long camping weekend and a long trip back home with 3 grandchildren in the back, and as we were delayed in traffic we had to have them for the night.
We had no beer in the fridge (we'd taken it camping) oh, well I'll have a G&T, oh no we finished the gin yesterday. I reluctantly had a Guinness 0.0 and to my amazement it hit the spot.
I've never been a Guinness drinker, preferring Bass or Tribute.
There are some great AF beers out there.
There are also some pretty good gluten free beers out there.
Sadly I've not found any decent AF gluten free beers out there. A niche too far, sad face emoji.
Guinness 0 and Erdinger are my favourites. Toast lager is also not bad.
I've tried a few, but I'm not a fan of the ones I've tried.
but I don't know about anyone else, I still feel hungover the next day if I have more than two. I'd rather drink proper beer if I'm still getting a hangover.
Edinburgh's Bellfield brewery have quite a tasty low alcohol beer (0.5%) - Fire Island IPA.
Erdinger cans still on offer at Tesco, four for three, £6.
I’m into the Leffe blonde 0.0 atm, the and the Guinness are my staples.
tried the leffe offering lastnight really hit the spot for a lighter af beer. Very good first impression

It is the only AF alcohol I can drink (absolutely every other one I have tried leaves me with a weird taste in my mouth that takes hours to get out). However, the most I have managed in an evening is three tins – I just find that it starts to taste a little too sweet. More often than not, I will just have a fruit cordial with soda (usually something more tart like cherry or cranberry).
I got it from their site here
but just been on and it doesn’t appear to let you buy anything at the moment.
Nolia have another batch up for sale on their website now.
