Anyone grow them/have them in the house?
Looking for something a bit different for one of the corners in the lounge and saw some of these in the garden centre over the weekend ant thought they looked great.
Anyone here have them? Easy to keep etc?
Aye, they're really easy. I've got mine on a wee tray and spray them once a week
We keep one in the bathroom. It's stayed alive for a few years now. Shower steam probably helps.
I've had a few. They keep dying. Tried spraying - it rotted. Tried not spraying - it dried out. Tried one in the bathroom which did last the longest, but it then dried out and rotted at the same time after months of being fine.
Cool plants though
We have a teeny one in an open glass bauble thing.
And a bottle garden thants not gone well.
Rose of Jericho can be good fun - quite animated for a plant 🙂 Some people use them as Christmas decorations - they curl up in a ball when dry - stick them away in a cupboard for the year - bring them out and give them a dribble of water and they spring back to life
Yes very easy. I do almost nothing to mine and it's multiplying.
Ours is very happy after two years. We were recommended not to spray since it can lead to mould and rot. Instead it gets soaked in water about once every couple of weeks (dropped in a large jug and left for a while). It then gets to dry out thoroughly before going back to live happily in it's wee house...
I don't spray mine either actually. I just water it a tiny amount once a month or something. It's in a small ramakin in a gritty soil.
