Is it me or are they just harder to clean than the paper ones?

I find the paper filter ejects itself with the coffee grounds in a little puck, leaving the aeropress needing a mere quick rinse. However, the metal disc stays attached, needs rinsing etc...

Not "batterer" as I thought it may be.

?

Yes they are harder to clean. But it's just a rinse. I normally use paper at work and the metal ones at home

Harder to clean and much, much more expensive when you eject it into the bin by accident and forget about it. Since a pack of paper filters lasts about a year I don't see the point ...

I just slide it off the top, it leaves all (well, ~95%) of the coffee in the aeropress so it can be pushed out into the bin, then give the metal disc a quick rinse.

I just use the papers ones at home or work, the metal one lives in my camping gear box where i can usually just reuse it wiping it on wet grass.

Love my metal filters. Never have a problem cleaning them, a quick spray with WD40 before each brew, and they just slide off nice and clean post brew.

I do mine in wax. Lasts a couple of months between treatments.
