move on, same old same old, far to seriously, it is not real, it is only the internet, not much going on in their life, too much time on here, blah, blah ,blah blah.........
yet still they come, yet still they read.......curious? bored? or just the same? ๐
" absence makes the fart grow Honda "
Or something lyke dat.
I don't really ride my bike any more and will probably move onto other things this year.
The chat forum, though, has always been an entertaining backdrop to a mug of coffee and a biscuit. It would be a shame if the banter is modded out permanently one day.

[Charlie Sheen]Weak...[/Charlie Sheen]
In the bad old days, there was probably an argument for saying those on the nets too much had 'nothing else going on'. Thing is now, when one can access STW via all manner of mobile devices, it does not really hold true.
I am currently on the toilet.
I'm making supper.
With a glass of wine, R3 on in the background and I've just farted.
From the looks of his fingers it's gonna be something involving some kind of poo...
I think they often make the mistake of thinking that complaints are reflective of the forum view rather than just the views of those who are annoyed
This is spot on.
They can't or won't approach the forum to provide moderation that's more fluid and in tune with how it works. By avoiding this relatively simple solution they are contributing to the dumbing down of the thing that made them. FERROUS!
I've been contributing here via mobile for about 7 years.
So I'm actually super cool and not some geek or troll.
Can you tell what it is yet?
Hmmm. I'm going to go out on a limb, and just sit in the tree for a bit.
I'm guessing a number 2
jamie, walking on ice is so so dangerous.
go stand in the corner and think very seriously about what you have done.
Does anyone think that bans really work?
Generally I would say no as surely everyone has an "in case of emergency' stw login. Okay the forum username gets banned but they can easily come back under another username. Okay ip addresses can also be blocked but most users probably have access to multiple devices running different ip addresses, which all helps to bulk up the recent '12 billion' unique users story ๐

Hell no, it hard to actually envisage an emergency with my regular login that would necessitate some sort of backup
"I've started, so I'll finish."
I don't know of course, but I suspect that TJ's exodus wasn't down to complaints, so much as a view that the lengthy arguments weren't constructive to the feel of the forum as a whole. Actually, not to single out TJ here, I'm referring to those affected by the Great Cull generally.
Pages running into double figures debating whether Jesus wore a helmet and undertook people whilst on his iPhone were, presumably, not part of the Vision for the forum. Feedback from the Admin would suggest that more people are actively using the forum since the competitive arguers were dismissed, though I never really understood why. If you're not interested in something, don't read it; it's not mandatory to read every thread on the forum. Maybe that's just me being odd.
Sorry when I said 'everyone' I meant those that really really care.
TJ should have been banned just from the chat forum and left with the option of posting on the bike forum. Yes I know he could get pretty belligerent on spoons as components but his contributions were largely helpful.
I've only had a warning, that was for relaying the story of a friend who was touched inappropriately by someone in the television industry. Of course the mods realised that no such thing could possibly have happened. ๐
I think it was some folk not being happy that their voices weren't being heard on certain threads.
There's no way in Hell Jesus wore a helmet.
It's a forum provided free of charge.
What's the problem? Perceived inconsistacy delivered by unpaid volunteers.
Some people should really, no really get out more and enjoy life rather than vocalise about their perceived rights on a forum.
IMHO
๐
Unpaid? I heard that Drac is on a salary that would make a Premiership footballer blush.

People who use words like 'vocalise' should be banned without warning
Well, when i said 'felt sorry' and 'worried', i just thought that was a bit more polite than saying i just thought he was a bit sad and mental. I'll keep it concise next time ๐

Anything to do with Wendyball gets treated with contempt. Everything else gets a quick shufti, just in case. On occasion, that's provided lots of genuine entertainment.
A bit like the thread under discussion, as it happens... ๐
I've stumbled upon some great threads by accident, but generally don't bother if I don't think I'll be interested.

You'd struggle to stumble across the most interesting in recent times - it's just been zapped ๐ฅ
Which one was that?

The masterpiece about a bloke's failing long distance 'relationship' with a South African
Ah yes! It was great. This forum was much better 20 minutes ago.

Indeed, I was just about to get on to the last page, when oops, the page has gone. Someone needs to write a script that archives threads before they get deleted so we can all laugh at them in our own good time. That thread definitely made me lol.
lol ist VERBOTEN!!
Google makes a reasonable hash at it, but sadly only the front page:
Yeah, you came acropolis with that one.

Last attempt at this question - did the Sweary stuff lead to full or temporary bans? Anyone know?
Why upset STW? Must be hard enough knocking out mag content to be also policing what people post on here. Why become a big-hitter? Just calm down FFS.
You swear all you like Teamhurtmore, it's only really after some prick reports you the mods step in and even then they'll be more lenient with some than others.. their ball and all that ๐
