I'm impressed that folk notice how quickly others go missing.

It took me about 2 months to notice GW had gone, and he was my arch nemesis (not really, but y'know).

I didn't know TSY had gone until I read it on one of 'these' threads

Gangnam style

They all got a bit sweary last night.. and quite rightly it got binned. It was there just to wind up each other and the Mhods.

It was one of those threads where you walk in, take a peek around the dark recesses and silhouettes on dingy sofas, turn on your heals and head right back out into sunlight.

You're the only one left standing from that thread

Still here [ as mentioned above and thanks] but bannings a plenty I imagine from that thread

FWIW I would not be here without moderation but it is often inconsistent

I suspect this is more down to different individuals modding than it is down to them wilfully doing anything

I also think , as he is the only one not anonymous, that drac deserves respect for at least being open on here though it probably leads to him getting more grief.

The other mods must be regular posters i assume

Fair point that like. Mods resurrect the thread for 5 mins just so i can see it. Go on....

It was kinda like watching the bad lads at school baiting the teachers until detentions were meted out.

As in those days too, I was happy to be a bystander and watch it turn to worms.

Good for a giggle though chaps, top effort. ๐Ÿ˜€

Shall we have a game of spot the 'new' regular? ๐Ÿ™‚

Double points for spotting anyone who debuted their get-out-of-jail account months ago on one of their own threads about mods and bans.

Personally I've no issue with the modding or the consistency. Mods can only act on what is brought to their attention so their actions can only be as consistent as the audience of a given thread.

Do you reckon? I'd never assumed that I must say, I thought it was Chipps, Mark etc, and Drac.

I had a ban, once.

After which, instead of either carrying on regardless or seeing how close I could come to the edge without feeling the force of the ban hammer...

I decided to change my behaviour on here. Its a radical idea, I know. But its worked so far.

One ban in over 6 years.

I agree with solo - after all i get banned if I disagree with him and remarkably quickly to with language just like his post.

I am sure this is all coincidental [ as is the TSY thing]and if i am able to continue posting my fears will be allayed ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ok perhaps not learnt the sailing close to the wind thing ๐Ÿ˜€

For the record i think i have had 4 in my time on here about every 18 months or so i guess- they seem to be quite random when they occur but I accept that it will happen from time to time. I have said way worse than the things I have been banned for on here IMHO - not that this is necessarily a good thing

Suppose that is the issue the mods cannot please everyone

Could there not be a 'sin bin' page/panel where we can just go to look to see who's on a ban or not?

This plus lots

Go on Mods, y'know you want to.

That would glorify the banning - it would become the STW version of Asbos.

What we should really do is demolish their houses, so no one can worship at the front door of the banned big hitters.....

Thats not how it works. Everyone earns their own ban !.
People get banned for the things they post, not for what another member might write.

Go on Mods, y'know you want to.
I feel thats theres too much of this happening recently, members asking the moderators to revoke bans, threads by members wishing for the good ole days, etc, etc.

I would have thought it was obvious that the Mods really can't change a decision once it has been made, for if they did, it would become a right dogs breakfast here.

IME, some folk get their kicks in ways that aren't in the best interest of the forum. imo.

Sounds like I missed out watching a good game on handbags.

Oh, no I didn't, I was out with some mates (real physical people) and had some beer & curry. Much better!

It would appear that the tall clever one and the nippy wee oirish one (not that he's not clever either) appear to be also on the noity step

Still here thanks. A bad day for the Brotherhood of Hitting Big though.

I've been banned for a couple of days, didn't notice. It was after I had a thread pulled and a warning about language. So I suppose it's a three strikes thing?

It did feel a bit unfair at the time, the pulled thread was about a nice looking atlethic body ( Tom daly) and it was pulled because it was sexual, now I've seen any number of threads with girls in. ( I know 2 wrongs don't make a right, but still, unconsistant right? )

Overall though it's ok. And I'm trying to be good!!

I've been banned a few times. Basically for being a gratuitously offensive bell end! Each time was thoroughly deserved really!

Anyway, aren't bans, to big hitters, like ASBO's on an inner city council estate. A sort of badge of honour and credibility

Some former STW dwellers earlier today......

I see that hora's just bought a balaclava so the mods won;t recognise him when he's posting filth.

People get banned for the things they post, not for what another member might write.

people get banned because of how much offence a mod takes at what is written it may be earned but the scale is variable and poorly understood by all users

Go on Mods, y'know you want to.

I feel thats theres too much of this happening recently, members asking the moderators to revoke bans, threads by members wishing for the good ole days, etc, etc.

God forbid the people who frequent this forum and subscribe and such like should have an opinion on what happens here eh

I would have thought it was obvious that the Mods really can't change a decision once it has been made, for if they did, it would become a right dogs breakfast here.

Decisions have been changed and I am not sure an air of infalability helps. Its probably a reasonable point that, like refs, once the decision is done they will stick to it.

IME, some folk get their kicks in ways that aren't in the best interest of the forum. imo.

We all think that of some users hence the mods job is a difficult one.
They cannot please us all all all of the time.

I think i joined STW very soon after the hammer of ban was struck on TJ and keep hearing the name about these parts. What did he/she do to warrant expulsion?
