River Derwent burst at Darley Bridge near Matlock - this was a few hundred yards from my house even after the water had receded at about 3pm.
It was deeper still on the actual road - great comedy value when a Land Rover went past causing a wave, which freaked the dog out, so he jumped over a wall, only to find it even deeper on the other side. I was soaked up to the knee.

Yeah, it would be a tragedy if that hat happened to get lost, wouldn't it?
