have a pop at me too if you like. i still think a million isn’t a huge amount of money. it would allow me to move down the road and gain a garden and 1 more bedroom or take the interest on the lump sum (at4% 40k) but thats not going to make a massive difference to my current situation.

i have no interest in moving to the north, that would take 10million so i could have another place in london with a helipad/helicopter/pilot to hand in the country property to get back to civilisation quickly.

It would allow me to work when I choose, travel the world, spend more time with my kids, have total security, put more into society (volunteering and that) and see my family right.

You've been had, mate.

Conflicting interests no?
I suppose, if you left them at home. Do people do that when they go on holiday?

10k, 100k, 1m, 10m,

IT DOESN'T MATTER

Most will still want 10% more than what they've got.

Chances are, our orginal lucky winner who would have been super happy with 3k more in her pocket this morning (taken off the top of my head she's on 30k ) will not be satisfied will 50k more in 6 months, a year, 2 years at tops

Greed..... it's a wonderful thing.

really? i’ll not make assumptions about your situation like you have about mine but i’m very happy with my work/life which i wouldn’t swap for anyone else’s as i’m lucky enough to do a job i love doing and am paid well for doing so.
it’s certainly not a bed of roses but compared to a lot of people who loath their dull jobs, bosses and resent leaving the house on a monday morning I’m happy as a pig in sh*t.
i wouldn’t mind an extra bedroom and a walled south facing garden though.

the winner is 49 and doesn't want to retire so is going to continue in the same lab job until 55. The good thing is that she's a thoroughly nice person so everybody is thrilled for her.

Wonder who will be the first to have a crack on your Xmas do..... 😆

And I don't think those of us who'd pack in work are suggesting we'd just sit around on our backsides all day watching Jeremy Kyle.

Speak for yourself 🙂

And I'd have a massive telly, Livin' the dream!!
