My wife sometimes pays for meals out. Although in fairness, as she is a stay at home mum and has no income of her own i do give her an allowance every month so effectively I'm paying anyway.

"No I am a gent," .... You Sir are clearly not. 👿

“she's pretty average looking”

and

“If she was smoking hot would you be complaining?
“In theory no!”

Whelk

Wonder what she’s posting on “Girlie Track World” ?

I’ve been on three dates with some fella, he is not bad looking but he’s as boring as hell and very shallow. Thing is, he’s happy to pay and hasn’t really tried it on (thank god!) Should I carry on seeing him ??

My missus took great offence on our first date when I insisted on paying, (she told me later) after that we go halves when we are both working. Right now, I'm on the allowance and she pays for everything (except new pedals, a reverb and Blur LTc)

Hi 5 binners, wow, Sbrock, you sound just great... 🙄

I take it you asked her out on the dates, and maybe I'm guessing you suggested where to go, right? cool, your paying then LOL

If I fancied her, date 2 would have been at my place!!

That might just be a little too much detail about what happens on a second date with you, emsz!! 😉

Emsz - how about we skip straight to a 2nd date then?

Don't forget though Emsz: “she's pretty average looking”, so maybe not worth the price of a few glasses of wine and a meal? 🙄

Obviously STW forumites are all used to have really classy good-looking women falling at their feet. While buying them drinks, obviously 😉

If she is pretty average looking why have you made it to the third date?
You're desperate, so keep spending.

This thread says more about this site than any other thread I think I’ve ever read.

So you think after 3 dates she should “put out”

“Returns on investment”?

“mental calculator”

I have genuinely LOL’d… but in an embarrassed way.

Last idiot probably cracked and asked her to buy a round. That can take a while to get over.

Nothing more demeaning than a sympathy shag, is there?

I wouldn't know, why don't you tell us how it feels Don?

I'm not desperate no, it's not hard in ths day and age to meet women for sex!

The lady in question persued me and I went out on the first date purely out of curiosity to find out about her, she is quite an interesting person and yes I do actually fancy her! Anyway dinner date is on at her house!

I better take some vino just in case she thinks I'm tight!

this thread has intersted and amused me. I have a colleague in her mid 40's split from hubby 18months ago, got new boyfriend at christmas but was not best impressed by him so in her words turned into firends with benefits, then she met someone else 3 weeks ago and seems very happy with him, but it seems to take less than a week from meeting to spending almost every night staying over with a new man. She is a good friend so i dont comment but having been married for some years i'm weel out the dating scene. Maybe i'm old fashioned but this all seemed quite fast to me, but having read this thread maybe not.

oh and enjoy your dinner date

Apparently you just do it all by text now, without ever actually needing to talk to each other 😆

Perhaps the OP should try hedging his funds with a wide range of women to avoid disappointing returns.

To quote Bender:
"A one-thousand dollar hooker-bot, or one thousand one dollar hooker-bots....??"

When I was in the dating game I always had the rule that if a girl didn't offer to buy a round on the first date it never went to a second date. Having said that I rarely let them buy a drink on the first date even if they offered.

Its not about being tight, if a girl doesn't make any attempt to buy a round or split the bill it tells you a lot about them and their outlook on 'equality.

My wife to be pays for as many meals, drinks etc as I do and always has.

In short get rid.

I gave up on a girl a while ago who always seemed to have forgotten her purse. To be fair, I don't think she was trying to get out of paying. She was just a bit of a f&&kwit and forgot everything, all of the time. She'd routinely leave her house keys at home and forget her phone, then wouldn't be able to call me to tell me that she was running late etc etc.

I think the final straw came when we were back at her place and she managed to trip over her cat (not a euphemism).

😯

Quite simple, the sexes are becoming increasingly equal all the time in terms of spending power. Just date women in the same socio-economic position as you, really really rich women who have a low chance of dating someone richer than themselves, or women that want to make their own way in life without getting anywhere off the backs of men by using their femininity.

Women are strange creatures; they want equal wages, yet they don't like dating men who earn less than them; they like gentlemen, yet holding a door open for them is chauvinistic; they say they like nice guys yet they have a track record of dating jerks; they want high flying careers, yet still want the time to have a perfect relationship with their babies. Etc etc etc.

No need to be bitter though as there are plenty of nice intelligent women who have a lot of self awareness. You should be dating around to find one instead of keeping your eggs in one basket....and making sure you are a good enough person to keep one when you do find them.

Hey, maybe if women only went on dates with people they found attractive or enjoyed being with instead of basing their dates on how much the man could pay for, women would be less objectified by men? After all, it's then just another transaction for a service/material object.

If she is pretty average looking why have you made it to the third date?
You're desperate, so keep spending.

DezB, so you agree with women being objectified through the use of money?

I always hold doors open, let women get in lifts first etc. I've never once encountered anything but a polite thanks

Hora = Women cant say no to him, proof is needed.

Emsz = Women cant say no to her, from her own mouth.

OP maybe going all the way at his next date but what about the cost benefit analysis

Don Simon gets sympathy shags, don't know why.

Weather in Swansea is dire and my first day back from hols is really dragging.

Jota what age group are you in?....as I've met a fair few younger women 20-25 range who are irritated by it.

I've only ever met one woman who was irritated by my holding a door open for her. She was about 30.

That said, she was even more irritated when taking her at her word, I didn't hold the subsequent door for her which then clouted her around the face. 😉

You can't please everyone, but like many, I hold doors open for all regardless of age or gender.
