Walked to collect parcel from post office hoping the walking part would total half an hour but it didn't, just 20 minutes. Went out for a 40 minute ride on trials bike. Finding it good to keep these rides short as is about slowly progressing skill not wearing myself out.
Knees are slightly upset with me for some of the stretching I did yesterday. Particularly the bit where shin and top of foot situated against wall knee on floor and trying to get other leg into lunge position.
Looking at the many nice pictures above makes me realise how limited my options are.
I’m back to jumping around my kitchen and running round the block tomorrow so don’t worry about it!
Yeah Thanet ain't no picture either and I've become one of those people who rarely gets further than 15 miles away from home. Still enjoy the riding and being in surrounding pockets of countryside.
^ Sounds like me.
If it helps at all, my nice views over cloud inversions etc are all looking one way. Turn 180 degrees and you look right down Leeds Bradford airport runway...
Late evening Pilates for me last night. Work is absolutely stupid at the moment.

Broke my toe walking into the leg of a dining chair so missed yesterday. Jesus wept it hurt!
Gonna try a road ride on it in a bit, see how that goes.....😬
I don't suppose muddy trails and bike cleaning is much fun anyway. Can't, also say at my time of life,I,m to keen on getting wet and muddy.Perhaps I need to challenge that feeling.
Healing thoughts @thestabiliser, I can imagine how painful that was!
Run here in a minute. Hope the rain holds off.
32 minutes in Loch Pityoulish again. I now have a ducky to measure water temperature. A positively balmy 9C this morning.
Some decent snow on the summits so I'm hoping to supplement my current activities up there soon. Probably not this weekend though. 70km gusts forecast - and that's at street level! Might need to revert to some indoor activities after all.
@thestabiliser - looks sore. I bet you cussed like a good 'un!
When I first saw that stabiliser I thought it was a bad covid rash.
Not bad thanks, better than walking anyway!
Still going - weights class Weds. Yesterday I counted the cycle to and from the pub, but today I went for a very short run (I want to see if my knee will stand more VERY short runs rather than 2-3 pretty short runs a week) and THEN an hour on the bike.
Weds showed me that I need to work on my plank 😀
Had a good hike about and got into a number of arguments over my non mask wearing.Very exhilarating!Taking on Britain's growing army of little Hitlers that is.
If your hike was around Tesco then fair enough, but out in the countryside, **** 'em!
Upper bodyweight for me this evening. Warm up, then some still-not-balanced handstands, then onto pull ups. 1st set, got to 4th rep and thought would struggle to do 3 sets of 5. 2nd set felt better so decided to do 5 sets of 4, so I did. Increasing sets rather than reps worked well. Then dips, 3 x 5, hard. Then bodyweight rows paired with push ups on push up bars for full range of motion, 3 x 10 of them, 2 min rest between sets. Took well over an hour by the time I'd done a few stretches to cool down.

Exactly!
Met my brother for a 15 mile walk today. Not sure my legs are going to manage tomorrow’s planned ride as a result. Haha.
Drove up to Badaguish once the wind/rain subsided for a 7km run.

I reckon it'll get harder for me when the clocks go back tonight.
On the plus side, it's the end of British Shaving Time so I get to grow my chin-warmer again.
Today I have started yoga with the delectable Kassandra.
Two tough stretches - something pigeon and baby cobras.
Either way, got a dab on, did something new. Got my 30 minutes
🙂
So far so good this year, I've been out two nights in a row when all I've wanted to do is curl up in a ball with a book and snooze. Both times getting out has woken me up and helping chip away at my annual distance challenge on the bike that I'd given up on in August.
Looking forward to Day 40 and a ride with my son.
I ended up doing circuits at 10.30 last night, so close giving it in 😱
Got a walk in this evening during a gap in the rain. May struggle this week, MrsMC is away to care for her dad who's just come out of hospital, so I'm working from home with two teenagers
A run today with vague ambitions of running 10k but in reality by 4 miles I was thinking about ending the run and walking home. Pushed on instead and got 5 miles. Sides of shins/calves seemed to be feeling sore today. Paused the walk home to do some stretching with a view of green sea and a dark blue-grey sky.

Straddle pose as well I find. Experts will be near doing the splits and laying flat on floor (pancake). When I first started I was struggling just to sit up right with my legs in slender V.
What video was it? Easy to follow along?
Well it's happened the terror inducing harbinger of the coming darkness has risen from the sulfurous recesses of the shed and has made its lair the spare bedroom

Pure. Evil. I don't know how people sit on these bastards for hours at a time
Just done Yoga, ran up a hill yesterday, walked and biked on holiday during the week with the usual daughter on shoulders or throwing about in the air. I'm having a day of not knowing why I ache any more.
Sirromj, I did beginners 30 minute yoga thing on YouTube and it was simple to follow. Easy to find online too.
Yoga with kassandra
Two hours house work and half an hours walk.Need to get out tomorrow and push myself.
A run round the block yesterday. First one since 9th of Oct but managed a 7k with no hip pain so quite chuffed. 90 mins on the turbo in the shed today, another first in a long time!
Been swinging the Kettlebells for the past couple of days. Skipped a day on Thursday. That's a total of 4 days missed so far. On the plus side I'm hitting the 500 swings with minimal stiffness the next day now.
Woke up on BST so went out on the cross bike for 1.5 hours whilst it was still quiet. Always tricky weighing up whether to take the Tour de Yorkshire summit finish climb on the way home, when you just set out for an easy spin! Surprisingly made it given yesterday’s walk still in my legs. Maybe, just maybe, I am getting a bit fitter from this!
After all your efforts I,m sure you must be.Your comments about pushing yourself a bit more have give me food for thought.A big session in the park is coming.
Go on Monkey...
For various reasons, mostly lack of time, I've not been on the bikes much for the last couple of months. Generally been running or walking instead. Anyhow got on the road/commuter/gravel bike today and did 40 miles in the White Peak.
Definitely NOT bike fit but enjoyed myself. As I've not cycle commuted since March I'd forgotten just how close some people get when passing. Also seem to have lost some of my road skills / survival instinct, so need to get that back.
Also first try of the Garmin Edge Explore that I got a week ago from Halfords thanks the PSA. Quite nice being able to follow a route and see all the stats whilst riding. Need to turn off the beep when it pauses recording though. Gets annoying in traffic very quickly.
PBs on my regular local climb today. Quick blast before tea.
Bit of a disaster on yesterday's ride although at least now I know what Di2 does when the battery runs out 😀 Fortunately it happened fairly close to home, so just had to spin back. A pity, as it was a chilly but otherwise perfect day for a ride. Did a bit of gardening while the thing recharged, then went out for a quick hour before lunch.
Today was trail running day with mates. We did a fairly short but enjoyable route up a local mountain. And the rain held off, result.
After a wet ride yesterday that was worthy of mention in the Old Testament, we were rewarded with a dry and sunny cold day for a 3hr ride this afternoon.
Im grateful to this challenge for getting me out days when the sofa would be irresistable.
Ian
Me and a buddy headed off to Findhorn for a beach/forest ride. Partly for a change of scenery, partly to escape the boggy local tracks.

Yeh,a fatbike would give me extra choices.Walked to the park and did another 75 minute gym circuit.Thats twice in three days.Must remember not to overdo things and end up in a depressed fug.I need to concentrate just as hard on my recovery/sleep and nutrition as on the exercise itself.
I saw one of those 7.5kg kettlebells in a local charity shop. Are they any good? What exactly are you supposed to do with them?

Farmer John's mudfest with me son, he's eyeing up the gap jump at the end of the 50:John line, I'm still eyeing up the shark fin entrance to the 50:John, oh to be 12 and full of confidence and skill!

Here are a few of the basic exercises. I've been doing a lot of Swings recently, but you can use KB for a lot of different muscle group workouts.
^ Thanks.
Quick half hour trials practice after the morning rain stopped. Lower legs still sore from yesterday's run so didn't push anything.
Did the 30 minute beginner yoga video from Kassandra this evening. Good enjoyed.
Did a circuits session in the garage this morning topped off with a wee climb - emphasis on wee as I was with the daughter so just a quick few auto-belays for me.
I dug the fully mud-guarded singlespeed out the garage at the weekend so going to give that a go tonight. It really is wet and muddy around here atm...
I'm also doing the Strava climbing challenge again this month which is helping with extra motivation.
