I bought a Saris H3 to use with Zwift but I can't seem to figure out where to set it to Sim mode within Zwift, so when I pedal the resistance stays the same rather than harder for hills. Is there something really simple in Zwift that I'm missing? I'm using the Android app on a tablet.
Cheers.
Pair up your turbo, power meter, cadence and heart rate monitor on Zwift startup (maybe having already calibrated turbo for session if your model requires that, Direto does not).
Choose your route.
Then on same screen click "training" and select an ERG workout.
Now simply click "ride" down the bottom of the screen.
Oooh, I thought it was Sim mode to have the gradient be realistic.
If you don't choose a training program, inclines are emulated, but by default 50% going uphill. Even at 100%, downhill is only emulated to 50%, so you're less likely to run out of gears heading down virtaul hills.
To change emulation (slope feel)...
Choose route.
Click "Ride."
Then after loading click menu> settings> trainer difficulty
Some turbos give multiple options when pairing your trainer when Zwift starts up, on Direto you need to pick the "FE-C" option to have hill emulation.
Thanks for that. So far I've only used just ride with the default difficulty of 50% and up or down the resistance remains the same regardless of 15% or -7% gradient and I can ride the entire route in one gear. There are no extra options when pairing but a quick look does show the ERG mode being default under training rides.
Hmmm this is confusing.
When pairing click search. There will probably be multiple items under controlable. Make sure you select fec if it is there. Using just ride the resistance should vary with terrain.
It looks like this is a known issue for using a H3 over bluetooth with Zwift at the moment. Thank you for all the replies.
