I have had lots of trouble with headsets on all my bikes lately - an Acros one on my gravel bike and FSA ones on my mountain bikes. They come loose most rides, but the worst by far is the one on my Evil.
I'd like to replace the one on my Evil, which has a ZS62 lower, with a posher headset but the Cane Creek 110 seems to be the only readily available option. Direct from Evil that's £170. However, Cane Creek state elsewhere that an IS52 bearing will fit the ZS62 cup. Am I right in thinking that all IS52 bearings are the same, and so I could use the FSA cup I've already got and fit a high quality ZS52 headset into it?
Finally, has anyone got any decent headset recommendations? Is the Cane Creek 40 any cop or should I be looking at Cane Creek 110s/Chris King headsets and the like? What I really want is to put the thing in then forget about it forever like with an old 1 1/8" King.
