Here they are:

thoughts? - Unreal prices still there, pity they didn't change wheels, Pro Race looks interesting, will probably order one, - pity they kept the skinny mavics though

Link doesn't work? Did vital post too early? What were the highlights and what were the 2015 Capras like (colours?)

Yeah looks like Vital may have jumped the gun! Link not working. I'm guessing by OP's comments that the cheaper Capras are still coming with the dodgy E13 wheels and the pro with the crossmax enduros. I was expecting a change of wheels for all the Capra range with the top end one going with the more suitable crossmax enduro xl's. I doubt they will lose sales though.

Baby blue pro, Black and white comp 1 or red comp 2

They've got it spot on with the colours this year, Shame they didn't lengthen the TT and lose the E13 wheels though

Alu Capra for the masses, surely that will sell like hotcakes. Paint job maybe looks a bit cheap?
I like the new colours on the carbon capra though - especially the Yeti (ish) Blue!
Slightly disappointed there's no real change / update to the carbon capra. I was hoping for bottle cage mounts but I don't think I am necessarily representative of their target market.
They've put the price up by €200 on the top model with no real spec boost - Unless you particularly like the new colours, I'd save money and go for the old one I think.

Either way, if you've just ordered one I doubt you'll be too gutted.

Frame was always going to stay the same, - cost of changing carbon moulds/process so soon is just too high.
TTL works for a lot of people, depending on your height.
Agree about the wheels, although, the word is that e-13 have changed all their bearings and seals just in the last month.

Top model has newer FCV BOS forks at 160mm, carbon bars, diff tyres, apex stem.
Not sure how much better the FCV forks would be though.

I think there are now two with BOS. The equivalent to the old and the one with the higher spec FCV 160 forks. There was a grey with yellow graphics IIRC.

One of my riding friends will be dissapointed, he was hoping they were going to make them a proper size this year.

This all despite another who's got one & had 2 separate cracks on it & not had a bike he can ride for months at a time 🙄

likewise, look good value, and get good reviews, possibly a bit fragile for a long travel hard hitting bike...

also lack of big enough sizes means its not a problem for me, and Id be looking at canyon for a CF enduro bike....

Yes, because no other bike brand in history has ever suffered a cracked model 🙄

All I can see now, is low-res google cache images:
At the top here:

text about the capra pro:

The Capra CF was a monumental success for YT in 2014, so as expected, no significant changes have been made to the 2015 bike. The frame stays exactly the same, but sees the introduction of new colorways (now 7 in total), spread out over the 4 models available. At the top of the line we find a new "Pro Race" model, which features the FCV version of the BOS Deville fork @ 160-mm travel, carbon Fatbar from Renthal, and Mavic's Crossmax Enduro wheels. The claimed weight for a size S without pedals is 12.9kgs. The whole Capra CF line moves to SRAM's new Guide brake, and will roll out on Maxxis HR2 instead of last year's Continental Trail Kings.

Protective Snapra owner? 😛

Not quite the bargain he hoped it would be, after selling the E13 wheels which also fell apart & having buy something else...

Its well known that there were tolerance problems with the mech hanger, - the chainstays have been redesigned. All new models have the redesigned ones and YT are replacing any existing ones promptly.

Basically, its down to teething problems that are now sorted.

Yes, that was one of his cracking issues. The other was the front triangle, around the linkage.

He's since found other people who have found cracks around the head tube too, along with others who have complained about cracks around the BB area.

Under £2k for this seems like a bargain for all the bike I could want.

That Origin Al 1 does look good.
They missed an opportunity to lengthen the reach though.

Unlike the new 'budget' Nomad at least the budget Capra is an actual bargain, sub 2k for either of the origin models is a steal, I should imagine they'll sell by the truckload.

If you buy a Giant Reign from Europe it's cheaper and has some lesser components but better back up.

He's since found other people who have found cracks around the head tube too, along with others who have complained about cracks around the BB area.

Its a mass produced product, there will be some that fail....try Googling 'snapped/cracked frame' followed by any manufacturer name you like, Spesh, Banshee, Giant etc etc....what comes up are thread after thread on this forum, MTBR, Bikeradar, Pinkbike etc about issues with the particular manufacturer or frame you've just searched for.

In fact try it for just about anything you like, even supposedly premium products....Google iPhone problems and loads will come up, search for BMW reliability issues and loads will come up despite brands like that trading on their reputation for quality and reliability.

In 20 years of riding MTBs i've still yet to experience a frame failure myself or even see one among the riding mates i have, so much of this kind of thing is friend of a friend stuff and its become worse in the internet age because once you post about a problem with a bike its then there forever and just gets added to by another of the few who experience the same problem until some products get an unfair reputation....

....from reading this forum alone i'm probably never going to buy anything substantial/expensive by Hope, why?....the amount of 'my Hope product-X has broken, what shall i do?' type threads that crop up with alarming frequency....admittedly Hope do seem very good at sorting any issues so people keep going back but i'd rather not have hubs that fail in the first place...(awaits tons of replies defending Hope hubs now...but thats my point, a good product can have a poor view by some people on the basis of some very publicly reported failures)...YT accepted the failures around the rear mech hanger and issued a recall, cant do much more than that.

Plenty of people are very anti brands like Solid, Rose, YT, Canyon etc because they're upsetting the natural order of things...in years gone by the masses bought Specialized/Trek/Giant with own brand finishing kit and a very average spec for the money....people with a bit more money to spend often bought the same bikes but upgraded the fork, shock, wheels etc and this allowed them to feel superior about their purchase...others prepared to spend even more money bought frame only by Intense, Banshee, Pivot etc and adorned their bikes with the latest and greatest parts and rode around safe in the knowledge that their 6k+ superbike was untouchable and they could feel smug at whatever trail centre carpark they happened to be posing in that weekend....

....then came along the direct selling companies who will supply a frame with the current 'on trend' angles, aftermarket and branded finishing kit and shocks, forks etc that are considered market leading in their category....all for half the price of putting a build together yourself....now everyone can ride a superbike without having your pants pulled down for the privilege....to top it off these bikes actually ride well and are well reviewed by the press when they get their hands on them.

For the snobs out there this is an outrage, how will they possibly feel superior out on the trail now?!...there is also a problem with people feeling a little embarrassed at what they previously paid for bikes and having their pride hurt, these direct sales models highlight just how cheap a good bike can be built for using economies of scale and cutting out the shop floor layer of retail....its natural to wonder why on earth you've been parting with so much money in the past.

Of course people try to justify the inflated price they paid for the bike by talking about having a dealership to return to if they have any problems....two issues here, its a bike....most people are capable of sitting down with a cuppa and watching a Youtube video about anything that needs doing on the bike...we're not talking highbrow engineering, whether you ride a Halfords special or a carbon Santa Cruz the derailuers all work on the same principle and brakes are bled the same way....there is no mystique to pushing in a headset cup or cutting down a fork steerer!

Secondly, how often are you having to return to the dealership with problems?...bikes are simple, if your choice of bike hinges on how quickly/conveniently you can get said bike back to the dealership then i reckon you've chosen a crap bike that is not fit for purpose.

Each to their own but with that Alu Capra at less than 2k i'd consider myself mental to spend 6k on a similar bike sold to me by an established brand via the traditional route!....oh no the wheels were wobbly when it arrived, my LBS charge £10 to true a wheel...i'd still rather do that than pay thousands more for the same thing that wears a different badge....Christ even if the bike arrived barely assembled and was unridable my LBS still only charge £100 for a complete bike build....in that worst case scenario i could still go on a very nice holiday with the difference!

I for one welcome the arrival of YT, Solid, Rose, Canyon, Radon etc and with Commencal going to the direct sales model too things are looking good...they're all making race winning bikes that are within reach of mere mortals like me, long may it continue.

If you like, seems to be the done thing on this forum when talking politics so why not bikes!

Seriously though, i dont get whats not to like?!...for people who like a shop front and established brands they still exist and will gladly sell you a bike....but for the price conscious you can now spec a bike to unbelievable levels and actually have a chance at owning it without having to sign up to finance or it still being on your credit card 5 years later!

I don't disagree, they have a place in the market, as do bike brands sold through a more traditional means.

YT are still a very niche brand, with limited models and bikes so they are a bit of a poor relation to the likes of Canyon who don't just cater for DJ'ers, DH'ers or wannabe Enduro Wizards, but what they do, they do very well (for the most part).

I can't imagine your average high end brand rider feels embarrassed/pride hurt/blah just because a company bring out a better spec bike for cheaper. From our own extensive market research they are very different markets, that have very little crossover.

But hey, I work for one of those big, evil brands that apparently like to pull our customers pants down, so i'm just protecting my interests 🙂
