I'm going a way for a week over new years for a friends 30th birthday.
We've booked a farm house near hay-on-wye so flooding aside what's the riding like there?
Is it worth taking my steed for some NY riding? MTB or road?
Trails and route suggestions would be welcomed!
If owts cheeky or locals only, feel free to email details to me Ben.cragg83@googlemail.com
Thanks for your responses in advance, Merry ****in Xmas!
Try LBS in Hay for info. You really are spoilt for choice around there with the Black Mountains and the Welsh Marches (unless you're looking for trail centres).
Cheers for the quick response! i'll def check out the LBS.
Not looking for trail centres, def looking to explore the local environment.
Might only get one free day / afternoon before her indoors get the hump so wanna make it count!
The Black Mountains are awesome. Find a map; follow tracks that cross lots of contours downhill. They're all ace.
Black Mtns +++, and also just above you: Hay Bluff, not to mention Lord Hereford's Knob (really!)
I love a good ride on Lord Herefords Knob me.
Some fantastic riding to be had in the Black Mountains.
Be sure to take in the descent off Rhiw Trumau.
