[Closed] Yeti DJ - shall I get a S or a L?

[#1086305]

Selling my BMX cruiser to go back to hardtail.

I'm 5'7. Ridden my friend's DJ which is a large (obvious choice for him he's about 6'3). His bike is the reason I've chosen this frame as I feel right at home on it.

Only other ht I've ridden recently is a Commencal absolut 4X, size Short. Really didn't feel comfortable on that bike, which makes me think I would prefer a bike with a longer top tube.

So the question is as above - should I get the Small or the Large DJ?

Or, does anyone in Sheffield have a small I could have a scoot round on?

Cheers,

Katie

I had a first gen DJ a few years ago - beautifully made and well thought out frame.

On Yeti DJ's L is long and S is short - not small and large.

If you liked your friends L then go with it. At 5'7 I would have said a shorter top tube
would be better for you though.

for what use? out and out DJ, or trail riding? Have you had a HT that fitted, if so what/what size?

We'd proably be able to mock up some ideas using stock bikes, to get an idea - although I've not get Yeti in stock - few days delivery from Evolution. If you can manage a decent ride on your friends, then that's a best bet.

Si

Oi genesis! Stop hi-jacking my thread! 8)

Riding will be BMX tracks, 4X and trails.

I previously had a Flow Myth in 2006, I think they come in one size only. It was given to me for racing but I didn't ever feel that great on it. Though that was mostly due to my gearing, fork and wheel setup, not the frame. I seem to remember it being long though and that part felt alright.

Before that I had an awful bike which I don't want to talk about....

GW - why do you think a small is too big for 5'7 woman?
