Quick Friday loop to keep me out of the pub. Lost count of how many greenfly I had in my ears, eyes, mouth, helmet

Went for big proper ride yesterday.... 1300m climb. Proper alpine trail down the side of a cliff. Bloody awesome.

Postimage doesn't want to let me upload pics..

How can I post pics here?

Was originally going to drive over from Leeds and do some of the off-piste stuff at Dalby, but seemed silly to sit in the car for 3 hours, so did a 82km gravel ride from the door. Some great gravel tracks out East of Leeds I've never done before.

Second race of the series for Reeksy1 and me (Reeksy2 has a birthday party sleepover so missed out).

We’re at Toowoomba- Jared Graves local and where he runs training sessions with some of the team. He will likely win the elite by a huge margin again.

The enduro format allows us to ride up to four laps of each of the three segments per day. So we did sighting laps today. Overnight in a motel and back for a full day tomorrow. It’s sunny, cool and dusty.

Wasn’t feeling it Friday before heading out as my back was aching all day at work, but when I checked the weather for Saturday I forced myself to get out. I’m still messing about with the forks trying to get them sorted so was keen to try the changes I’d made while the trails were still relatively dry.
Glad I got out as my back was fine while riding and the forks finally feel like I’ve got them set up right. Which is a bonus as I’d been very close to buying a new set of Lyriks!

Another local ride. Trails were still dry after all the rain we've had recently

Race day 2 for us.

Went back and did each of the three stages twice again. Hills were still big. Smiles were bigger. Great fun. I took six seconds off my fastest time from last year on the really flowy track but on the other two I couldn’t match last pace. I’m thinking it was just a bit rockier and dustier 🤔

We both finished mid-pack in our age groups but happy enough.

A few from our last rides in the South Tyrol. Included a 1000m natural descent that kept getting better and better. Really wish I'd taken the GoPro now. Loved riding here, stunning landscapes and so many (mostly hiking) trails. Then we headed back to Frankfurt but squeezed in another 2500m of descending via two Gondola uplifts (pics in next post)

Rode the Panorama and Propain trail in the Vinschgau Valley. So many winter ski lifts now running for bikes in the summer. Panorama trail did not have great views, but due to the massive exposure and 1000m drop I wasn't that bothered. Classed as an S3 out here (so proper black), it was the first time I walked some features this week. The top photo being one of them!

Propain trail was a lovely way to finish, another nearly 1000m of really well built trail. Quite a shock after riding natural trails all week. The end of it is strange, it says no bikes but still has trail signs! Anyway it's a few minutes of steep, steppy rocks that had us both grinning like loons at the bottom.

Took Friday off and had a superb, dry ride at Rostrevor (second 2 photos). But yesterday was absolutely dismal! (First photo).

Lovely couple of hours around Woburn back woods. Great dirt after all the rain. Finally learned how I can link up all my favourite bits into a decent loop now, although losing my bearings a couple of times as there was nowhere near this much greenery the last few times I've been!

Monster wind and hugely heavy showers, cracking scenery, empty roads. Connemara day (afternoon) 1 is rather good.

27 mile local loop today as it was forecast to rain, but thankfully it held off.

Way down south this weekend, a two night jaunt around the east devon trail..... mostly road, some tracks, bridleways and even some nice singletrack on Woodbury common that caught me out on a loaded bike with 35mm tyres. Iffy weather but very nice indeed IMG_20260605_165925333_HDR.jpgIMG_20260606_130543324_HDR~2.jpgIMG_20260606_135108039_HDR.jpgIMG_20260606_142435533_HDR~2.jpg

Dalby off-piste which despite the weather forecast was absolutely brilliant. Trail fairies have reinstated my old favourite trail which got flattened a few years back by logging too...

No foreign exploits here (Dolomites look good up thread), just more South downs. Weather a bit strange, blustery and overcast. The rape has all gone, but white flowers make it look like a dusting of snow....

The wind has brought yet more ash down in Stanmer 20260607_114702.jpg 20260607_120012.jpg20260607_114922.jpg20260607_125502.jpg

Not much time this weekend so out nice and early on Sunday to beat the crowds and the weather. Although there were loads of runners out. All friendly though, so all good.

Went for a loop instead of sessioning the fun stuff 'cos I'd been woken up by next door's teenager having a party and singing Oasis at 3am... Then on the fun stuff I did hit it was super fun and dusty I managed to get a PB anyway. And the stuff on the loop is getting really overgrown and I managed to bruise my foot on a hidden log. Ah well.

Saw the bunny in the top shot jump over a blackbird shortly after that first pic. That was pretty fun.

No drones or action cameras this week, just as many miles as I could squeeze in.

200 mile charity ride over the weekend - rained for the first 75 miles on Saturday, headwind all the way home on Sunday. I took the road option, there was a gravel option. And 5 gravel nutters did the TPT in a day on Friday before joining us, think they they did 350 miles over the three days.
