Will UCI World Cup XC racing ever return to Dalby?
I gather Yorkshire Forward played a big part in getting the 2010 & 2011 races there - but as they went in the 'Bonfire of the Quangos', it doesn't look like there's anyone to push for the race to return.........Unless of course, anyone on here knows otherwise(?).
Not heard anything about it, but I'd love to watch a World Cup at Dalby. If there's 10% of the enthusiasm you get at Fort William it could be great fun.
I think it will be back next year or within a few years, as I understand, it was dropped from this years schedule because we had the Olympics and thus there would be too many UK stages held in the UCI calendar. It was voted best venue by competitors, teams and trade, certainly the first year, possibly both. I hope it will be back, FC Yorkshire/Local council should be pushing for it.
Not next year. UCI World Cup & World Championships calendar is already published.

Don't know if the rumours are true, but I've heard that following the latest reorganisation/recruitment, there are no longer any staff who mountain bike (or understand anything about it) in the management team at Dalby. If this is the case, it would seem like a right clanger on the FC's part - although the latter doesn't really surprise me.
Don't like to sound pessimistic, but I can't really see the local or County council having the spare capacity to alocate a couple of people to put a bid together and organise the event. (I gather Yorkshire Forward liased with all the relevant authorities, and had one or two staff who did all the work). There doesn't seem to be any one body who could do all this now - bit of a long shot, but maybe BC could take it on?
Be a real shame to not see International XC racing come back to Dalby.
