Any help would be appreciated.

I'm after a sub £100 cycle computer which has a hear rate function to replace my Cateye strada.

Budget can be pushed if necessary and it's worthwhile.

I don't like to use watches when i'm cycling so anything wrist mounted is not an option.

Whats good 🙂

Dunno what is good... but the Aldi cheapo is utter crap. Avoid.

Garmin Forerunner 305, with GPS and heart rate. Under £100 at Amazon.
Its designed to be wrist mounted, but you can attach it to the handlebars with a bit of pipe lagging and zip ties (or buy a proper bike mount for £10).

Bontrager Node 1-2. Both are excellent.

You can configure the Garmin with different screens so one big read out if that is what you want. I find it fine for reading on a bike and the bonus is you can use it for running as well.

Apparently the Polars have sealed sender units so you cant replace the battery.

GPS based would be good so I can swap between bikes without buying loads of mounting kits.....

Garmin 200 looked ok but no HRM.

Cateye was on my list as the default option as a non GPS computer
