+1 for winter, can't wait to get all sh1ty and covered in mud again, like the summer but riding in it gets a bit too hot for my liking, love all the seasons really, but find winter the favourite as you always have spring to look forward to, if that makes sense 🙄

I do! I actually got fed up with riding dusty trails this summer! What the hell is wrong with me?

I hate it. Can anyone recommend me some decent winter gloves?

Yep Winter is great. Wrapped up warm with overshoes, warm tights, etc... on my road bike with mudguards. Heaven!! Bugger that getting wet muddy feeling off road. Oh and the endless cleaning of muddy clothes.

Yeah! Got the Shimano winter boots out the other day, just sorting some new winter gloves and lights. Bring on those frosty mornings!

Good for a bit but by about Feb I'm craving a bit more warmth and sun and a bit less mud, damp and expensive grinding drivetrains/worn-down-to-the-backing disc pads.

I like it. Best bit for me being the views opening up as the leaves fall.

Yes. Love it too. That nip in the air and the smell. The arrival of Redwing and Fieldfare. Brilliant 🙂

If it's a proper winter (like the one last gone) love it. Lovely frozen fast single track.
The days no one could get into work due to traffic chaos I went biking 🙂

Love the cold and snow, hate the grey and rain, which is what we get the most of.
Last winter was great, most are cr@p.

At least with winter you know what your going to get! instead of all this maybe warm, no wet crap summer days. In fact I didn't really benefit from the bright nights up here in the Highlands cause it was bl@@dy overcast 50% of the time and other 50% raining. Phah!

Bring on the 'still' frosty days 🙂 Luv'it..........

Last winter still feels quite close if you know what I mean. Not that that's a bad thing, I love it but I'm struggling to find the motivation for solo night rides in the dark at the moment. Not in a "I'm scared" kind of way but in a "it's dark and depressing" kind of way when just a couple of days ago I was out till midnight enjoying the (almost) midnight sun. The solar powered LEDs are coming on at 8PM now. Bring on the snow then!!

autumn is best. beautiful light, moderate temperature, gorgeous rich hues of the countryside.

but not eternally black like winter.

autumn wins out.

Winter rocks !!!!

bought a sledge yesterday to beat the silly inflated price they were selling for last winter.

this one , http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SNOW-SLED.-SNOW-SLEDGE.55-INCH-BODY-GLOVE-SLED-IN-GREEN_W0QQitemZ310245175389QQcmdZViewItem

It was £10 less than this though.

Winter is best, I usually get Seasonal Affective Disorder in the Summer. Love the way everything just feels a bit different. Plus, there are too many fair weather riders (and people in general) in the Summer, getting in the way! I am not a sociopath, despite the gist of this post.

Only things wrong with winter are the wind and too much bloody maintenance. Nothing worse than getting up in the morning, pissing down with rain and having to deal with the fall out from last nights ride. Chain's turned orange overnight, van's full of debris, the wife's seen the muddy footprints down the hall where you crept in at 1am, the shower drains blocked with grit and the seals on the washing machine have failed from overload with grinding paste..

By the time of the new year isnt everyone fedup with cleaning the bike, replacing the worn out parts, and the slogging through the mud on your fav trails - theres no such thing as freewheeling!

Dry autumn night rides are best - fast and dark 🙂

Love the seasons proper not the mish/mash in between.

The race is on to get my old Claud Butler ready for long comfy winter days in the saddle.

I'm with the Jo Burt SAD committee on this one.

If I had my way, Britain would be towed 1,500 miles southwest every September and dragged back again in April.

I like most of the seasons. But winter's pretty cool if you've got the right kit. I get fed up constantly washing stuff, not just the bike, all the kit etc... And I don't like how it trashes trails. But snow is just brilliant, cold air is nice (you can wrap up against the cold but I can't take off any more clothes when it's hot, not without getting arrested) and night riding is cool, as are mid-afternoon sunsets and watery winter skies... Lovely. And snow riding, oh, how cool is that? Proper snow that is, not icy slush, it's just grim.

But if you ask me again once the real thing arrives I'll probably tell you it sucks.

I love the snowy bits in winter, but not all the horrible wet and muddy and windy bits!

I love the days when its cold, crisp and dry with that really bright wintery sun. Hate it when its all dark, gloomy, windy and rainy. Snow riding is good fun and cleans your tyres up really nicely! Even my non-riding friend noticed the difference when he saw my post-snowride bike, asking if I'd got new tyres.

Snow's lovely, and riding on frozen trails is fun, especially on those sub-zero but sunny days.

It's the darkness I have a problem with. I always reckon November's my worst month of the year - dark, wet, windy, and too far away from Christmas to be cheered up by that prospect. There's nothing worse than pedalling to work in the dark, looking at a sky that barely gets better than grey, then pedalling back in the dark.

Love the snow and frost. Hate the grey drizzling pissy days with a passion.

I hate going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark.
