Have a wingnut pack and love it. contacted them on a warranty issue (tbf its old but worth a try!) their uk dist. has pulled out, so no one here to deal with it. theyd pay for any repairs i need to make tho, which is nice. hope someone picks them up as they are great packs and it would be good to see them in some stores for folks to try.
Toby at propel was struggling with the manufacturer (he's a little eccentric) so not a great suprise.Shame cos thy are so good.
shame, thought it might be something like that.
That's strange I ordered a new Splitback from Propel yesterday. I was told if Wingnut were making it they'd import it.
Hurrah....
I've just sent my Wingnut back to Toby.
He made no mention that they were no longer importing them.
Just thought I'd bump this, are Wingnut having problems with reliability? I have been seriously considering one for a couple of big rides, I don't want to spend money on something that will fail and wreck the ride!
had mine for a couple of years now and its still spot on
They aren't as durable as heavier weight packs but IME it's perfectly acceptable.
Hi Tangyn,Uk is a far piece for sending back for repair. we had this issue a few years back for a short time. Our UK dist. usually handles these issues for us, but they have just this week backed out of continuing with the brand for 2010. So I can't send you to them.
it's a simple repair if you can find a boot repair shop. I can send a repair shop some $ to cover the repair if you want to locate someone to do the work.
Hi Tangwyn,It is really bad news, as i now have a steady source supply for opening up more accounts. I appreciate the praise, allot of people feel the same way including my dist. which makes this all the more difficult.
I am in NY and considering a summer trip to open up shops as a potential next step. The UK dist. did a really good job of getting press but not so good at getting it into stores apparently. I am blind to the UK bike market, where the riding is etc. but think I am going to have to educate myself as i can feel the momentum in place and won't let it die off regardless.
where there is a will there is a way.
can you send me a thread link for single track world where you are chatting? where do you ride? are there bike destination riding areas like a moab or a fruitta in UK?
I want to help take care of product failures as well as business in UK, this literally just happened over the weekend.
the cost of shipping back and forth is not worth it. maybe if I come over we can figure a solution?

great packs, all day comfort.
Try Summit Cycles in Aberystwyth... I saw an advert in STW Mag saying they were doing something with Wingnut.
My riding buddy has one, he loves his.
Also seems to take more stuff than a Mule.
I've got two, managed to rip (no idea how) my Hyper 3.0 which I've had to tape-up and bought a 2.5 from Beics Brenin only a couple of weeks back. Great packs, very comfy.
Not saying anything's concrete, but hold tight for a couple more weeks if you're after more Wingnuts.
