As the sun has made an appearance this week, I fancy taking the kids for a bit of a freshwater swim this weekend.
I've found some good spots away from the crowds in appletreewick but fancy a change.
Do any of you have any favoured spots?
I'm in Halifax area and can travel upto an hour ish by car.

Wetherby is a popular spot for swimming in the Wharfe, if its warm enough go for a dip in the pools by Goredale and Janets Foss.

Top end of the Wharfe up past Yockenthwaite. Might be busy as it's right next to the road but there's up to 3Km of river to chose from.

Stainforth Force good. Lots of potential for diving/jumping.

Also, not Yorkshire, but still North, the best pace I've wild swam is Blackmoss Pot in the Lakes. Awesome.

Forgot about there, although it can get a bit midgey.
Also Greywater Bridge further up the river on Haworth Old Road

Spot near Hardcastle Craggs if i re-call a swim a few years ago. Head out towards Bridge Clough/Crimsworth Dean Beack.
Little pool by some falls.

Looking at that wild swimming site, please don't try Ghaistrills Strid with kids unless you're super confident in their ability.
It's a well known canoeing spot and the flow thru the Strid, even with low water, is very strong.

Gaddings is grand but if you can stretch your drive a bit, Gormire over by Sutton bank is lovely. The Strid at Bolton abbey (just below the falls) is also good.
