Are the MK2 chainstays compatible for the MK1? i.e can us eager beavers with a MK1 upgrade the rear end for increased stiffness?

is the rear end only stiff in the 1x model or can it operate 2x too?

It's not that I have many concerns about the stiffness of the MK1, it's just that, well, shiney shiney new.

@skindog

They're not. The pivot on the front triangle of the 2015 frame is wider, so the 2014 would be too narrow at the Main BB pivot for the new chainstay.

Both G150 models for 2015 are SCR, so neither will allow a front mech to be fitted, if that's what you're asking.

I know what you mean about shiney shiney new. haha

I've got a medium and large G-150s on pre-order, still not sure on the sizing. Will only have a carpark ride to try out the sizing.
What size is the one above and how tall are you? How do you find the fit?

Looks great btw!

looking at the geometry the top tube is slightly shorter on the 2015 model than the 2014, that said it's still long.
I'm 6ft so will see how both bike feels. Think I may end up with a medium..

Atb still say end of September been told the delay is because of the SRAM wheels not being available apparently.

@wiggles 🙁 my LBS are still saying any day now as they are, apparently, getting the first batch. If the wheels are not available I'm guessing that's not going to be the case! Seems poor that a supplier stops a product shipping but it's not unusually for the bike industry.

As far as I know September was the original release date for most of them anyway so only been delayed a few weeks.

It's pretty much irrelevant to this thread but I have had a Whyte 29 CS for two days now, and it climbs like a rocketship. Loving it......

@leftyboy I have searched everywhere and am being told the same thing from everyone, I am THE MOST impatient customer on earth and as such have exhausted every avenue trying to get a bike earlier but if its the T-130 Works ya after it would seem ya have to wait till end of Sept

Even longer wait for the SX "entry" level model! It's due to parts supply issues. Anyway...

Got a T-130SCR Works on order as a demo bike for the shop. Can't wait for it to arrive and get some miles in on it! Anyone in the midlands area that wants to demo a medium sized T-130 when it arrives, please feel free to get in touch...

Can anyone give an idea / links as to how the quad link works. How do they compare to dw links/fsr? Are they single pivots? I cant find any blurb on the website. Shame that orange T130 doesnt come with pikes

Supplier won't have the bikes until 25th of September (at their current estimate) so no shop will have them until at least a few days after then, so no point ringing loads of shops as all rhthe bikes come from the same place.

T130s is available now as it has different parts.

It's a conventional 4 bar linkage, no phantom trickery or anything. Would've thought it pretty obvious looking at it myself...

But that's why it costs what it does. Put Pikes on it and you'd have to increase the RRP by at least £200. It wouldn't make sense as they also have the higher specced Works model with Pikes.

Mine feels like it has a lot less pedal feedback than the FSR on the camber - even on road sections I don't feel the need to lock out or put on pro-pedal, not sure if this is down to the system or a better shock tune?

It also feels like it has more travel than the 130mm available, not sure if this is down to me coming to 650b & a tubeless set up after riding a tubed 26" bike for the last 25 years!

@wiggles My LBS have now said as much! I'm having my dodgy knee cartilage sorted on 1st Sept so hopefully the Works will arrive just as I need motivation to ride with a sore knee 🙂

I wasn't trying to be annoying just didn't want you getting your hopes up when there is very little chance it will be before then.

I've already bought the bars and stem for mine and just choosing pedals... waiting for a bike can be expensive!

@wiggles Not taken your updates as annoying! Just frustrated as I wanted to get some time in on a new bike before my knee op and when I pre-ordered it looked like the Works would arrive first! Always painful waiting on a new bike! Have always bought frames and built up myself or bought an end of season bargain so this is my first wait for a new model! Whoever said patience was a virtue had never waited for a new bike! 🙂

@Wiggles popped into my LBS now saying 3 weeks and 2 days so 25th of September looks like a possibility. I'll just have the knee op, put my feet up (sorry) and wait 🙂

So after a week of riding my T130s im finding out its strengths and weaknesses, finding the paint chips really easy so heli tape it from new,the wtb tyres are great in the dry and smooth stuff but show them a wet n rocky lakeland down hill and there crap, watch out for the front mech cable rubbing on the swing arm when its compressed, seems the cable clip is not tucked back a enough, easy sorted by zipting it futher round the seat tube. plus the gear outer on the bb shell rubs in the clip, but doesnt really need to be hooked into that. Just thought id give you guys a heads up before you hit the trails on those long awaited steeds..Other than that its f*cking awsome..

It seems that numbers/geometry can be deceptive.

I sat on the ‘Small’ Whyte T130 S that Bike UK have in stock today. I was expecting it to feel markedly too small (I am 5'10"), especially as the size chart recommends it for 5’2” – 5’6” heights. But to my surprise, it felt only ‘’just’’ too small, even with the shorter, 60mm stem specced on the small version. So while I was agonising between a large and a medium, it seems that at 5’10”, the Medium should be spot on. I may even be able to get away with a 60mm stem on the medium, which would be great. Bike does feel on the heavy side, but the frame is top quality, looks really sturdy - the rear triangle is a lot more sturdy/attractive looking than on last year's T129 for instance.

Put deposit down on a medium, expecting delivery in early October :\

Im 5'8 and the med fits a treat, the tt on the large is nearly 2cm longer which felt way to stretched out yet the standover was still ok. I havent felt the need to change anything from stock as it felt well balanced going up and down.the bike is a fare bit heavier than i thought but doesnt feel heavy whilst riding it.

So no pain in knee after op, tear was much longer than expected but all good now. 2 weeks off the bike and then turbo for 2 weeks then hopefully back to normal riding. Just hope my T-130 Works is here by then!

Surprised at people thinking they are coming up big. Had a little pedal on the T130S in med and if anything thought it felt quite short when standing... Im only 5' 8" so medium should be bang on but interested to try a large.

I had a quick go on a new G150 works last night, large felt good in the frame for me at 5'10" (and a half!), I was amazed how well it pedalled uphill when seated - the guy behind thought it was locked out as it wasn't bobbing (it was fully open). I couldn't feel any frame flex mashing a big gear either. Didn't get to test it on any decent downhills though.

I'm very keen to get a go on a T130 SCR... (G150 is too much bike for my riding!)

Ah, this is disappointing. I had hoped that a medium T130 would be just right for my 5'10 height. Seems that I am between a medium and large after all (although not tried either, as both not in stock yet).

People who have actually got a T130 - what do you think of the sizing relative to your height?
