A box full of Shimano free hubs has made me want to look inside one. After all those 7 speeders are in perfect nick and might be cannibalised to resurrect those wobbly 9 speeders. Dust seal out and balls on the bench. Now I need to shift the ball race which has two slots. Made a tool out of a convenient other tool. Now does the ball race go anti clockwise, against resistance or is there some odd way of shifting it the other way. Ie a left hand thread. Anyone else daft enough to take one apart to see whats inside?
