Another vote for the Jake the Snake for 1K but be aware that it's 1025 notes now since the VAT raise. I just payed the excess in cash
Rrp is more than that but asking the shop nicely they will make it £1k least Thr bike place fid for me.

As said above, most versatile bike in the stable, get's used for racing (3 Peaks, Honc, not enough of the local (Western) League CX rounds, the off-road commute 15 miles mixed, winter rides, club runs, Weds night off-road, all sorts..
Planning to do a summer offroad Epic '200k in a day on the K&A and Ridgeway' in a few weeks on it too.
Whilst probably a sin to real CX'er's I traded up to a roadrat for my daily commute, on the grounds my current job has a reasonably sizable country part between me and it, and the roadrat seemed to let me have some flexibility to set it up fop moderate off road duties. It's been a real joy, and the last 2 months have seen my soul sat in the shed with the roadrat being taken for rides round the peak/ derwent valley, and my roadbike is the only other thing that gets a look in. Whilst it doesn't give me the smiles my soul does, or have the effeciency of my road bike, I'm just enjoying the off road distanced covered, and it makes me feel like I'm having some mini-adventures again 🙂

wow, thanks for the great replies.
I went to my mates shop yesterday in Malvern (Back on Track) and had a look at his TCX2, and I suddenly got a little excited like I use to when I first started mountain biking. I think Im defo gonna get the CX bike.

Coleman - that's the one! I've got shipley park and the woods at drum hill built into my commute, although looking at the rain this morning, will be back on the roads tomorrow 😕

We ride around Shipley area most Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.
