Edric can you not read? OP was clearly asking which rider would kick the snot out of the other. Cadel Evans will not be beating himself up.

Pro road riders are fairly unbeatable I reckon, even though I'm definitely a mountain biker over a roadie.

Yes I can read .I assumed he was referring to physical ability and mental toughness when you are done in as Cadel has been many times on the Tour .but shown amazing resiliance to hang in when others may fail ,You know ? that sort of hard.

Depends. For pure fitness a road cyclist will be fitter. But a MTB cyclist might have a stronger upper body.

An MTB cyclist has a lot guts to ride of big drops etc, but then a Road cyclist has alot of guts to ride hills at 60+ Mph on 23mm tyres.

So i don't think either one is harder overall.

MTBers as those road saddles make you numb down there.

Neither.

GW Could take them both on at the same time, especially if the fight were online and forum based.

Well roadies beat Gays fact, see below. And after seeing matey get hit by a car, catapulted into a barbwire fence and get back on and ride during the TdF last year, I'd need some evidence to prove MTB's are harder somehow. [IMG] [/IMG]

I may be missing something here, but don't you have to be a man to be gay ?

it's easier to see if a road rider is hard, because of their tendency to wear lyrca.
and buttplugs, which can be painful.
apparently.

So your vision of football is that they are all gay and not men?

I used to have a gay (and incestious) guinea pig who wasn't a man, he was a guinea pig

Firstly you don't have to be a man to be gay, the term when used to describe homosexuality can refer to either sex.
Secondly as with many terms in the english language it also has different more colloquial meanings to different people. To me and as used above it means over dramatic and soft, again my vision of football. Although there does appear to be lots of man on man action in the photo which could refer to another use of the term gay, and no not the 'happy person' use. Oh and I robbed the photo ๐Ÿ˜‰

As the forum's most gay gayer, I'm not offended by that, so you forum straights shouldn't be either ๐Ÿ™‚ Soccer players are totally gay.

Shame STW don't have a 'like' button!

I recall reading lots of Enid Blyton books some thirty years plus ago - and they all had a 'gay' time, irrespective of, well, members of Famous Five, Secret Seven, male, female, etc., etc...

Roadies without a doubt. What other sane segment of humanity would aspire to days of sheer pain to not even win!

Please can we stop with the infantile road vs MTB nonsense? We all ride bikes, lets just enjoy it.

Best comment so far!

A few of my colleagues who are also gay often laugh and joke about things like that photo. The photo is obviously not intended to insult anyone is is gay.

Firstly you don't have to be a man to be gay, the term when used to describe homosexuality can refer to either sex.

This is where I start to get confused, especially when I hear mention of the "LGBT Community", as if the L and the G are referring to two distinct genders.
If wimmin can be either gay or lesbian, while men (and guinea pigs) can only be gay, that doesn't sound fair to me.

We're all gay at the end of the day, can't we just get on with playing football.

And so can pigs. More often than not, as a pig farmer showed me fifteen years ago...
