Sorry, I know it's been done before, but which size Ragley Blue pig 16 or 18? I ride a Medium Cotic Soda with a 90mm stem at the moment and fancy a try with the blue pig. I'm 5'10" and a bit and am on the cusp of both sizes. Generally I like my bikes 'chuckable' but with a short stem on, will the 16" feel too small?

Thanks all.

Stu.

I had a 16 Mmmbop, for my taste it was just too small, 400mm seatpost wasn't long enough for one thing but with a short stem it was just cramped. So I stepped up to an 18 and it felt instantly perfect.

Brant did recommend a 16 btw, so your taste/mileage may vary but the 18 fits me like a glove. I take a medium in Cotics too.

I'm 5'11" with a 32" inside leg and bought a 16" Blue Pig frame based on Firestarters posts.

Right choice, with a 90mm stem (I am as jey as they come) and a 400mm post it is spot on.

I ride an 18" with 70mm stem - I'm 6 feet

Longer stem not recommended?

Thanks all. I think the 16 might be the way to go with a 90mm stem.

i really wouldn't recommend a 90mm stem - you can of course do what you want, but pigs are designed with a 50 or 70 in mind...

I would go for the 16...got a 16 mmbop for the boy and have to say that i found that the standover is quite high and i am 5 11. The cockpit is only a little bit shorter than brants previous on-one designs.
For my son i have gone for a 50mm stem and inline post to help him grow into it.

I rode a medium Cotic Soul with a 90mm Stem. I now ride a 16" blue pig with an 80mm stem. I'm 5'9", 32" inseam. The 16" looks mint. The 18" looks like a gate.

the 16" looks mint with a proper length stem, not with an 80mm stem.

Get an 18" with a 50/60mm stem if you want a more stretched out xc position. Thats probably missing the point of this bike though?

Squin;

i'm 6'2" - i took out the 18" 18bikes for a demo - it was ace, no complaints here at all.

i was very comfy, it did feel a little 'short', but in a comfy fun way.

in the end i got a 20" - there isn't that much difference in reach, but i've got very long legs and hate buying bikes that feel great, but can't get the saddle up high enough.

i was fine on an 18", you're 4" shorter, you'll be fine on a 16"

but please, do consider not using a 90mm stem.

now, sod off and buy the 16".

whoops, typo. 75mm, not 80.

anywaym, define "proper". "one that works" is a good start ๐Ÿ˜‰
