My shimano 520s finally died, and i hate the ritchey ones i've been using which i got given.
Any suggestions of others to look at? Briefly looked at M540s, and Crank bros candys and some time ATAC ones, anyone got these? i dont want to spend a fortune also
Ta!
get some more 520s from merlin for £20
sold out : (
ah. harsh one.
scouting ebay for some more, they seam to be about £23 posted from places like absolute cycles
was they the v4 ritchey ones, I keep looking at them wondering if they are any good.
they've got more stock at merlin, by the way
Just get whatever Shimano ones you can afford. Next.
Just get whatever Time ones you can afford. Next.
TIME ATAC - got 2 pairs - no regrets with my dodgy knees d.t. lots of float but shims are pretty good - used to have some!
Did someone say time? It's 1643hrs.
Time
Don't spd's end in tears if you go over the handlebars?
Tima ATAC Alium - bulletproof, and should last for years!
Enfht, no they don't.
520s for me on all my bikes. Cheap, work as well as the more expensive models and come with cleats. They last a couple of years before getting rattly but still work then for ages on a winter bike and are cheap to replace.
I really can't see the point in spending more.
20 quid or so from sjs cycles

I think going over the handlebars ends in tears regardless of pedals..
540s. Like 520s but just a little nicer.
And more expensive... What's better out of interest. I've noticed no difference actually on the bike...
Just bought THESE 540's off Ebay. Silly cheap and £70 + cheaper than XTR and only 25g a pair heavier !
Woolly hat shop have 520's in stock, black and silver at £21 a pair.
Dont consider Crank Brother Candy C's as they are shocking!
High On Bikes at ebay - http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/High-On-Bikes__W0QQ_armrsZ1 - 23 quid incl postage with cleats, black or silver all in stock. I ordered from these chaps a while back with no messing. Highly recommended.
