My shimano 520s finally died, and i hate the ritchey ones i've been using which i got given.

Any suggestions of others to look at? Briefly looked at M540s, and Crank bros candys and some time ATAC ones, anyone got these? i dont want to spend a fortune also

Ta!

Just get whatever Shimano ones you can afford. Next.

Don't spd's end in tears if you go over the handlebars?

Tima ATAC Alium - bulletproof, and should last for years!

Enfht, no they don't.

520s for me on all my bikes. Cheap, work as well as the more expensive models and come with cleats. They last a couple of years before getting rattly but still work then for ages on a winter bike and are cheap to replace.

I really can't see the point in spending more.

20 quid or so from sjs cycles

I think going over the handlebars ends in tears regardless of pedals..

540s. Like 520s but just a little nicer.

And more expensive... What's better out of interest. I've noticed no difference actually on the bike...
