Need to re-grease my commuter which has the old style ball and race bearings? However I will also be using it on the mtb which has a hope headset fitted so if there is anything decent that you can recomend that would be great. (been using eco-grease for most other bits like the chain
Thanks
Any general purpose bearing grease (not bike specific unless you particularly like paying over the odds - Castrol LM or CL maybe), or a waterproof grease like Morris K99.
Outboard engine grease.
I use Yamalube Lical - it's designed for boat prop bearings and boat trailer bearings.
Cheers I will have a look at those. Any others?
I like Red grease, my brother in law swears by Blue..
Red's faster.
Putoline waterproof grease is also good.
Gibbon spunk? Tricky to get hold of, do you know any Zoo keepers without any real inhibitions when it comes to ****ing off a primate?
Failing that any old Halfords crap seems to work well enough for what is a pretty low duty thrust bearing arrangement...
I just use the Weldtite red grease with teflon. Cheap enough to not feel like you are being ripped off over bike specific stuff.
