[#9974567]

I have a frame which I'd like to build up into an XC type MTB, I have no relevant spares (shed is full of road stuff) so am looking either for a donor bike or an efficient way to buy everything which isn't a frame.

Requirements:

- Wheels, 29er, non boost, 15mm thru axle front tyres upto 2.6in
- Forks, 100/120mm air forks with lockout, tapered steerer
- Drivetrain 1x11 (preferably) shimano,
- 31.6mm seat tube (preferably)
- Brakes / finishing kit - no preference

Ideas?

Edit: I'm thinking there might be bargains on old / small / unpopular frames or good ebaying - I need some clues as to what to search for

I made the frame so it means something to me and is not likely to be in demand by anyone else.

Otherwise, yes I would see the logic is simply buying a bike and getting rid of the frame.

Good justification.

Maybe one of the new Decathlon 29ers when they're launched very soon.

It's an awful lot of kit for the price, being Decathlon.

31.6mm seatpost.

15mm front axle

Rebas

Sun Ringle Duroc 30 wheels

edit:  available now!

SRAM NX 1x11

Decent SRAM brakes

Pretty standard aluminium finishing kit.

I had the same though for my build, but just ended up sourcing various used/new parts. Seemed like a bit of hassle to buy a donor bike.

I bought a brand new Boardman pro 29er off eBay for 500 quid, there are lots of them about because of cycle to work scheme I guess.

Full gx,mavic rims,120mm Reba's, bargain.Frame is quite nice as well to be honest.

Just looking at that link:

"ROCKRIDER offers a lifetime warranty on the frame, handlebars and stem"

That's better than most manufacturers!
