Can anyone recommend a rear bike rack suitable for a hatchback please?
Only needs to be for one bike and must be up to the task of carrying mountain bikes.
I was looking at the saris solo but the reviews aren't good from mountain bikers.

The Halfords HiMount is pretty solid and lifts your bikes high enough that they don't obscure your lights or number plate, which obviously would be illegal but seems to be ignored by most of the bike racks around.
You can also slope the top section back so the bikes are more hooked on than hanging vertically.
Check the Thule website for which racks fit your car, the Raceway is an ace bit of kit, not cheap though
-1 for Saris. The design puts a lot of weight through 2 small pads that will either abrade your paint or put dents in the bodywork. Or both. Luckily the car we used it on is a ****heap so it didn't matter but I wouldn't recommend them.
