Thinking of replacing my Sektor DPC with some 120mm air forks after just a couple of months on the bike. I'd been told before the build that 140mm coil would probably be overkill for me, but of course I didn't listen. ๐Ÿ™„

I now admit that I was most likely wrong, and I'm now set out to look for a replacement while there are still some deals to be had. Is Reba RL the way to go, or are there alternatives to consider in that price bracket?

I need/really really want: Air, 120mm travel, standard steerer
I'd prefer: Solo air (or equivalent), maxle (15 or 20mm), no remote

It's going on a classic Soul trail/light AM-ish bike. I weigh a meagre 130 lbs. I live in Sweden, so international shipping required.

Are all Reba's adjustable to 120mm?

Reba's are great. Have on on my xc hardtail, a 2007 model. I think almost all go to 120 mm now, but check or specifically order one listed as 120 mm. Also worth looking at Recon, available in 120 mm. Spacers on Rebas are easy to remove. Was looking on CRC before Christmas, there was plenty of options. Also worth checking out On One.

I have a coil Sektor DPC, which I have just put on a giant trance x. Can you not adjust the position to always keep the fork at 120 mm, or are they only designed to do this when climbing?

You can just leave it at 110-120mm (depending on if you have 140mm or 150mm max travel), and I have considered doing this, but if I don't have use for the full travel I don't want to be lugging around the extra weight for no reason, and now seems to be the time to buy new stuff (well, maybe a little late actually). Plus I can't seem to get 100% happy with the spring rates available. No real complaints about the fork itself though, just not for me I think.

I found a good deal on Reba RL at Merlin that I might bite the bullet on. Dual air, which I can deal with, and white (would prefer black), but otherwise spot on and a great price. Bike-Discount do competitive pricing without even having any sales, but they only offer the Reba's with QR. CRC, Wiggle, Bike Components, Hibike, 24bikes, On-One didn't have anything of interest really.

Last year put some reba rl qr From merlin on my classic soul - lovely fork. Removed the spacer and actually getting 125mm. However changed to 2010 revs with 20mm maxle. Not quite as smooth, a lot stiffer at 130 and only weigh about 80g more or something.
