SPAM Biking on Salisbury Plain for me too.
I've just rolled in from what promised to be an uninspiring night time tow-path bimble after pretty much six weeks out of the saddle with a bad back..
However.. upon reaching the city center at the halfway point of my ride I was greeted by the welcome sight and sounds of a festival strength reggae DJ.. pumping out the tunes at festival volume.. to a scruffy crowd of about 20 merry folk on an otherwise completely deserted quayside..
very pleasing
not only that but my back behaved impeccably and my legs are now waaarm and glowing..
lovely weather too..
good times
Okay it was cold wet and very windy, but I didn't see a soul all day except for an old mate coming the opposite way and he didn't recognize me.
Got some strange looks going through a village singing 'That's amoré' at the top of my voice - lonely you see.Edit: Not even the obligatory fat geezer on a Cervelo.
Perhaps you entered a zen like state and just slipped out of phase with this physical reality as can happen when you become one with the trails.
